Afrikana has always been a fubu space with an open door, and every once in a while we get folks that come thru who may not be our skin folk, but prove themselves aligned. Beth Marshack was most certainly in that number. A consistent presence for 10+ years, Beth was a legit Afrikana VIP! 🏅 Showing up at everything from Evening with an Icon to Midnight Movies & Mimosas - even inviting us host multiple team building experiences via her position with the state - so when the Afrikana family learned of her passing, we were shocked and deeply saddened, alongside the rest of our city. Beth was a warrior who used her presence, position, and voice to advocate for those that some attempt to marginalize or silence. In accordance, on this Juneteenth Eve, we acknowledge, honor, and celebrate a true ally who will be missed by many but who's work will live on. May you Rest in Powerful Ease, Beth. 🙏🏾🌈✨️
