This week for Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the FOP was proud to take care of lunch and dinner for our dispatchers as a small way to say thank you for everything they do. They’re the calm in the chaos, the voice on the other end of every call, and the ones keeping our officers and community connected 24/7. We appreciate the long hours, the tough calls, and the dedication they bring every single day—today and every day, we’ve got your back. 💙

Multi-Agency Success: Plantation Officers Help Take Down Professional Burglary Ring 🚔🤝

We are proud to recognize Officer Ryan Duty, Det. Robert Hogg, and Det. Chavez Grant for their incredible work with the BAT (Burglary Apprehension Team) task force!

Working alongside the Broward Sheriff's Office - Weston District, our officers helped dismantle a highly sophisticated "South American Theft Group" (SATG) responsible for a string of high-value residential burglaries in the Windmill Ranch community.

The Highlights:

* High-Tech Tactics: The suspects used Wi-Fi jammers and even inflatable boats to bypass security and target jewelry and safes.

* Relentless Pursuit: After months of surveillance and DNA processing, the task force—in partnership with the FBI and HSI—identified the organized network.

* The Takedown: Following a New Year’s Eve arrest in Weston and a final apprehension in Indiana, six suspects are now in custody with no-bond and immigration holds.

This six-month investigation proves that jurisdictional lines won't stop us. Whether it’s across the county or across the country, we will pursue those who target our residents.

Great job to our officers and all the officers from Broward Sheriff's Office, Miami Police Department, Coral Springs Police, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, Zionsville Indiana Police Department, the FBI - Miami, and Department of Homeland Security who worked this case together. 👏

This week, we proudly recognize our Public Safety Telecommunicators — the calm voices in the chaos, the steady hands behind every call, and the lifeline connecting our officers to those who need help most.

To our dispatchers: thank you for your professionalism, your dedication, and your ability to stay composed when it matters most. Every call you answer, every detail you relay, and every decision you make plays a critical role in keeping our officers and our community safe.

Your work often goes unseen, but it is never unappreciated. We are grateful for you today and every day.

Every day our officers hit the road with dedication and professionalism. Moments like this are just one example of the outstanding work our officers do to serve and protect the Plantation community.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Roy Romero on being selected as the Plantation Police Department’s Officer of the Month for December 2025! 👏🚓

Officer Romero is being recognized for his outstanding investigative work and proactive policing. In one case, he conducted a thorough investigation into a robbery and battery, utilizing surveillance footage and digital evidence to identify the suspect and secure an arrest warrant.

Later that month, Officer Romero’s proactive patrol and keen observation led to a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a probationer with a violent criminal history and the seizure of 178 counterfeit fentanyl pills along with suspected co***ne. His training, experience, and attention to detail were instrumental in identifying the narcotics and removing these dangerous drugs from our community.

Officer Romero also serves as a Field Training Officer, mentoring new officers while continuing to demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and dedication to protecting our community.

Thank you, Officer Romero, for your hard work and commitment to keeping Plantation safe. Congratulations! 👏
