FROM SCRIPT TO COURT
Now for the SECOND HALF of the championship game comeback in Running Point Season 2
Every time we work on a basketball scene, the goal is always the same… capture the story point while making every beat, reaction, and play feel REAL.
In this half, the energy completely shifts. The Waves start fighting back. Momentum changes. Confidence builds. The intensity rises possession by possession.
What people don’t realize is how much timing and coordination it takes between the actors and athletes to pull these scenes off. Everyone has to be in sync. That means running the same play over and over again in rehearsal until the movement, emotion, pacing, and reactions all line up naturally.
Our “controlled” practices are designed to give the cast and talent the most realistic environment possible so they can fully perform on filming day. We’ll usually have 2-3 cameras rolling during rehearsal to mimic the actual filming angles and build the rhythm of the scene ahead of time.
And one thing we absolutely loved about the Running Point cast… every single person was committed to bringing their character to life. That’s all you can ask for as a sports coordinator and choreographer.
Truly an incredible group to work with and we’re already looking forward to Season 3
