It's Second Thursday so time to see a great film at 7 PM at the Roseland Theatre as we return to Iran with an Oscar Best Picture nominee. It Was Just an Accident begins as a minor accident that starts a series of escalating consequences. A mechanic encounters a man he suspects is his jailhouse captor. Panicked, he rounds up a few ex-prisoners to confirm the man's identity. It Was Just an Accident offers humor that is black, drama that is deep, and an ending that is unforgettable.

Ready for 2nd Thursday after a wonderful weekend of Oscars in Onancock? This Thursday, 3/12 at 7 PM, come see Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight. This film thrusts us into the tumultuous world of 8-year-old Bobo Fuller, whose childhood unfolds on her family's Rhodesian farm, now Zimbabwe as the Bush War rages to its bitter end. Seen through her eyes, we witness the family's attachment to Africa's soil and the deep, festering scars of a war that reshapes both land and soul. This film manages the difficult trick of getting us to care for the Fullers while saving our sympathy for the Zimbabweans. Tickets are $8 cash at the door.
