Total 90s vibes unlocked. From Jim Carrey going full wild in The Mask to Cameron Diaz stealing the spotlight, this one’s a straight nostalgia trip. If you loved Derry Girls, you NEED to start watching How to Get to Heaven from Belfast because it just dropped on Netflix TODAY and it's completely different from anything Lisa McGee has done before.
Lisa McGee created one of the most beloved comedies Netflix ever had with Derry Girls. That show was hilarious, heartfelt, and captured Northern Irish culture perfectly. But this new limited series? It's described as a dark mystery crime thriller WITH a comedy twist. Completely different tone.
The show follows three childhood friends, Saoirse, Robyn, and Dara, who get an email telling them about the unexpected passing of the fourth member of their childhood group. When they attend her wake, a series of genuinely eerie events sets them on a dark, dangerous, and yes still somehow hilarious journey through Ireland and beyond as they try to piece together what actually happened.
Critics who've seen it early are calling it genuinely unpredictable. You'll be laughing at something sharp and witty and then immediately get hit with something that makes your stomach drop. That tonal whiplash is exactly Lisa McGee's intention and apparently very few writers can actually pull that off successfully.
The reason this is such a big deal is that Derry Girls ended on such a high note and fans absolutely adore that show. For McGee to follow it up with something this tonally risky shows genuine creative ambition rather than just repeating what worked before.
All the attention this month has been on Love Is Blind and Bridgerton so this show is kind of quietly arriving without massive hype. But that might actually work in its favor because people who discover it are gonna be completely blindsided by how good it is.

Joe Simmons, Madea's absolutely UNHINGED brother, is finally getting his own movie and it drops on Netflix TOMORROW (February 13).
Tyler Perry's Joe's College Road Trip is rated R and based on the red band trailer that Netflix just dropped TWO DAYS AGO, they are absolutely not playing around with this one. The trailer literally opens with a warning: "YOU'RE ABOUT TO SEE SOME MESSED UP STUFF."
The plot is simple. Joe's grandson B.J. is heading to college but his dad Brian thinks the kid is way too sheltered. So he makes the absolutely questionable decision to send B.J. on a cross country road trip with GRANDPA JOE to teach him about the real world and Black history. Which obviously immediately turns into complete chaos.
Joe has been a fan favorite scene stealer in 12 different Madea movies over the years but this is the FIRST TIME he's getting his own standalone film. And Tyler Perry wrote, directed, produced, AND stars in multiple roles including Joe, Madea (who makes a cameo), and Brian.
The trailer is absolutely hilarious and completely unfiltered. Joe is foul mouthed, grumpy, has zero patience, and makes terrible decisions constantly. One YouTube comment said, "Joe is the OG Dirty Grandpa" and honestly that's extremely accurate.
Tyler Perry has a massive creative partnership with Netflix and this is one of FOUR Tyler Perry projects confirmed for 2026. He also has Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 2 dropping in March, plus two more films later this year.
The movie was filmed in New Mexico, Tennessee, and Mississippi back in January 2024 so it's been finished for over a year. Netflix just strategically held it for Valentine's Day week which is actually genius timing for a family comedy.
This is perfect if you want something hilarious and chaotic to watch with the family this weekend. It's 1 hour 49 minutes of pure Tyler Perry comedy energy.

After YEARS of silence, Tyra Banks is finally addressing the America's Next Top Model controversies and honestly it's about time.
Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model drops on Netflix February 16 (that's in FOUR DAYS) and based on the trailer that just dropped, Tyra is holding absolutely NOTHING back. She literally admits on camera, "I knew I went too far."
The three part documentary features Tyra, all the original judges including Jay Manuel, Miss J, and Nigel Barker, plus former contestants who are FINALLY telling their side of the story. And some of what they're saying is genuinely shocking.
The show ran for 24 cycles from 2003 to 2016 and had over 100 million viewers at its peak. But during the pandemic when everyone was rewatching old seasons, people started realizing how problematic so many moments actually were. Body shaming, forced makeovers that included medical and dental procedures without proper consent, photoshoots where contestants were put in makeup to look like different races, and so much more.
Former contestant Lisa D'Amato called Tyra a "narcissist" and a "slimy little snake" in a TMZ interview and claimed the Netflix doc is only happening because Tyra found out contestants were doing a tell all on E! Network in March that would expose even MORE behind the scenes psychological manipulation.
In the trailer, Jay Manuel straight up says, "I realized Tyra would do anything for the success of her show." And the judges Miss J and Nigel reveal they were all fired in 2012 when their contracts expired and were never brought back despite being core parts of the show for a decade.
Tyra tries to defend herself by saying she was fighting against the fashion industry and trying to create diversity. But then she also partially blames THE AUDIENCE saying, "It was very intense, but you guys were demanding it, so we kept pushing more and more and more."
Cycle 6 winner Danielle Evans said it perfectly: "It's a TV show to you guys, but this is my life."
What's wild is Tyra NEVER spoke about any of this publicly until she gave a defiant speech at the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards last year where she said, "Did we get it right? Hell no. I said some dumb stuff. But I refuse to have my legacy be about some stuff linked together on the internet."
This documentary is gonna be absolutely explosive. Drops February 16. Four days away.

While everyone is going crazy over the One Piece Season 2 trailer that just dropped, Netflix quietly confirmed some MASSIVE Season 3 casting news that is sending the fanbase completely over the edge.
Xolo Mariduena, best known for playing Miguel Diaz in Cobra Kai for five seasons, has been cast as Portgas D. Ace in One Piece Season 3. If you know One Piece at all you know EXACTLY why this is such a huge deal. Ace is one of the most beloved and emotionally significant characters in the entire series. This role requires someone who can be instantly likable, charming, physically commanding, and carry enormous emotional weight. Xolo absolutely fits every single one of those requirements.
Cobra Kai fans watched Xolo grow from a supporting character into the emotional heart of that show over five seasons. He proved he can handle physically demanding action AND deep emotional storytelling. For One Piece fans who've been dreaming about seeing Ace brought to life, this casting feels like Netflix actually listened.
But THAT'S not even the wildest news. Netflix also confirmed that Cole Escola, who just won TWO Tony Awards on Broadway for their play Oh Mary, has been cast as Bon Clay. If you know Bon Clay from the manga, this is the most perfectly inspired casting decision in the entire adaptation's history. Bon Clay is theatrical, flamboyant, dramatic, loyal, and genuinely one of the funniest and most heartfelt characters in One Piece. Cole Escola playing them is going to be absolutely unforgettable.
Season 3 already started filming back in November 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa. Netflix is moving FAST on this franchise because Seasons 1 and 2 are both massive global hits.
The fact that they're announcing Season 3 casting while Season 2 hasn't even premiered yet tells you how confident Netflix is in this show. This is officially one of their crown jewel franchises.
Season 2 drops March 10. Season 3 is already in production. The Straw Hat era on Netflix is just getting started.

By order of the Peaky Blinders, mark March 20 in your calendar because Tommy Shelby is officially coming back to Netflix and the wait is almost over.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is the feature film continuation of one of the most beloved crime dramas in television history. Cillian Murphy, fresh off his Oscar win for Oppenheimer, is returning as Thomas Shelby and based on everything Netflix has teased, this film is going to be on a completely different scale than anything the show attempted before.
The Peaky Blinders series ended its TV run after six seasons in 2022 and creator Steven Knight always promised a film would follow that would wrap up Tommy's story properly. After years of waiting, that promise is finally being kept.
What makes this so exciting is the timing. Cillian Murphy won the Oscar. His profile is at an absolute all time high. Every project he touches right now gets enormous attention and the fact that he chose to return to Tommy Shelby as one of his first post-Oscar projects tells you everything about how much this character means to him.
The film is described as continuing Tommy's story in a completely new direction with the scale and ambition of a major theatrical release. The production apparently spent months filming on location across multiple countries with a budget significantly larger than any individual Peaky Blinders episode ever had.
For fans who spent years watching this show and fell in love with the characters, the world, the music, and the incredible fashion, this film is going to feel like coming home and being absolutely blindsided at the same time. Knight has been very clear that this is not a safe comfortable reunion. Tommy's journey goes to dark and unexpected places.
March 20 is just over five weeks away. If you've never watched Peaky Blinders before, you genuinely have enough time to binge all six seasons before the film drops. It is absolutely worth every single hour.

Formula 1 Drive to Survive Season 8 drops February 27 and if you think you're not an F1 fan, that's only because you haven't watched this show yet.
This documentary series is the single biggest reason why Formula 1 blew up in America over the last several years. Before Drive to Survive, most Americans could not name a single F1 driver. After it, people are buying race tickets, wearing team merch, and arguing about strategy at the water cooler. This show literally transformed the sport's entire American fanbase.
Season 8 covers the 2025 F1 season which had some of the most dramatic moments in recent racing history. Team rivalries that got personal, championship battles that went down to the absolute final race, driver contract dramas that had everyone picking sides, and behind the scenes tension at multiple teams that the drivers tried very hard to keep hidden from cameras and obviously failed.
What makes this show work for people who don't care about motorsport is that it's really about human beings under extreme pressure. The cars are almost secondary. It's about ambition, ego, fear, friendship, betrayal, and what happens when extraordinarily talented people compete for something they've dedicated their entire lives to winning.
Some drivers have accused Drive to Survive of manufacturing drama and overdramatizing conflicts. But whether that's true or not, the show is ADDICTIVE in a way that very few sports documentaries have ever managed.
The 2025 season gave the production team SO much genuine material to work with that this might actually be the most intense season of Drive to Survive yet.
Drops February 27. Perfect weekend binge.
