You worked hard to build your wealth. Are you working just as hard to protect it?

In this article, Ray DeWitt, prewsident of 1031 DST Group, tackles two of the most overlooked threats to long-term financial health — taxes and inflation — and why high-level investors need to be planning for both, not just chasing returns.

Two weeks from today, we'll meet at the Hero CEO Summit in Chicago. Here's what we're looking forward to most: the conversations that happen after the sessions end. Over a private CEO dinner. On the Chicago River. Over deep-dish pizza and a Cheezborger at the Billy Goat Tavern. That's where the real connections get made. The ones that turn into partnerships, deals, and friendships that last well beyond a four-day summit.

June 14–17. See you soon! https://pages.c-suitenetwork.com/heroclub-summits

If your company holds a FedRAMP authorization, works in GovCon, or handles any federal health data — this is required reading before July 1.

Lori Crooks, CEO of Cadra, breaks down three major compliance deadlines converging right now, and what executives need to do before enforcement kicks in:

📋 FedRAMP CR26 — Finalizes end of June, takes effect July 1. Authorization becomes Certification. Impact levels are being reclassified. Templates are gone. Your IR plan and SIEM alerting thresholds need to reflect the new framework — now.

⚖️ DOJ False Claims Act Enforcement — The Department of Justice's new Division for National Fraud Enforcement is active, cybersecurity FCA settlements topped $52M in FY2025, and the MORSECORP case made clear: reckless disregard of compliance accuracy is enough for liability. You don't have to have lied to be in trouble.

🏥 HIPAA Security Rule — A sweeping final rule is expected any day, starting a 240-day compliance clock. MFA, encryption, network segmentation, annual pen testing, and 72-hour recovery capability are all moving from optional to mandatory. If you're also working toward CMMC, these programs overlap significantly — the work counts for both.

The bottom line: The companies caught off guard won't always be the ones who ignored compliance. They'll be the ones who stopped paying attention after the initial filing.

Don't be that company. Find out more: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/six-months-out-q2-compliance-play-lori-crooks-cissp-cisa-cism-ef2ve/

The leaders who will be in Chicago June 14–17 have one thing in common. They don't wait. They don't wait for the perfect moment to invest in their growth. They don't wait to build the ecosystems that produce revenue.

And they don't wait for someone else to architect the room they belong in.

They register. They show up. They execute. Will you?

Burnout isn't a badge of honor. It's a business risk.

When a CEO is running on empty — mentally, emotionally, physically — the entire organization feels it. Decision-making slips. Culture erodes. Growth stalls.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it's time for C-level leaders to reframe the conversation: Protecting your mental health isn't weakness. It's strategy.

- Sustainable performance requires recovery.
- Clarity under pressure requires inner work.
- Leading others well requires leading yourself first. Resilient leaders invest in their mental fitness the same way they invest in their business. Intentionally. Consistently. Without apology.

What does that look like for you?
