We have been following Sophie for some time, and we would like to share her story with you. First, we would encourage you to visit Prayers for Sophie and send her your prayers and love. Sophie's GoFundMe page is in the comments to learn more.

Sophie Ryan was diagnosed with an Optic Pathway Glioma brain tumor at the age of 8 1/2 months old.

She is going in for her 7th surgery in 15 days, followed by a second surgery just days later to revise her shunt.

Here is a message from Sophie's mom:
"13 years of pediatric cancer. Long-term side effects. The constant fear of what might be happening inside her body. And now, watching this horrific disease spread to her spine. We’re acting like everything is normal around her, while we are absolutely dying inside.

We have fought so hard. We built two companies trying to save her — and neither panned out the way we needed. Now we’re unemployed, trying to figure out what to build next… for Sophie, and for other kids like her.

We’re going to make the most of these next two weeks. We’re going to make Soph smile and laugh as much as humanly possible, so she’s mentally prepared when we have to break the news."

💔 A parent's worst nightmare is hearing the words, "Your child has cancer."

My beautiful daughter, Addison, and just a few weeks ago our world turned upside down. She was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. A children's cancer.

Since that day, we've faced doctor appointments, treatments, tears, and many sleepless nights. Through it all, Addison tries to be brave, sometimes the innocence of children is a good thing, not knowing what can happen. But we don't want to think that way, we believe in miracles and are praying for God to deliver.

As her mother, I wish I could take every ounce of her pain away. Instead, I will endlessly hold her hand, and pray endlessly for a miracle.

As a mom, there is nothing harder than watching your child fight a battle you cannot fight for them.

I want to share with you a little bit about my son, Joshua. He is battling leukemia.

Some days we are consumed with treatments, doctor appointments, and the uncertainties that come along with cancer. Other days, we find joy in the tiniest of victories, that give us a glimmer of hope, a positive lab report, a bright smile, or a burst of energy that Joshua has, making us all feel a little "normal" for the moment.

What truly breaks my heart though goes beyond the cancer itself, it’s the realization of how different, and sometimes ugly, he sometimes feels from other children. People can make him feel invisible, and that makes him so sad.

Joshua is a vibrant little boy who loves to laugh, dream, and receive love, just like any other child. Today, I’m reaching out for something simple, not for money or gifts, just a little kindness that will make Joshua's day.

Five-year-old Madi Seivert from Granger finally reached the moment her family had prayed for through countless sleepless nights and painful hospital visits — she is now cancer-free.

Madi was only 3 years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia. What followed was more than two years filled with fear, tears, hospital rooms, procedures, and exhausting chemotherapy treatments that tested her tiny body in ways no child should ever have to endure. Over 806 long days, she went through 19 medical procedures and countless difficult moments while her family held onto hope every single day.

During her treatment at Blank Children’s Hospital, Madi became one of the first young patients there to receive a groundbreaking immunotherapy medication that doctors now say is changing the future for children battling leukemia. Her mother said receiving that treatment in the middle of such a difficult journey truly helped save her little girl’s life.

When the day finally arrived for Madi’s last chemotherapy treatment, doctors, nurses, family members, and loved ones gathered around her with cheers, applause, and tears in their eyes. As hospital staff sang and celebrated, Madi rang the hospital bell marking the end of her treatment while her emotional mother proudly reminded her how brave she had been through it all.

Her parents said the overwhelming feeling now is gratitude — gratitude that her body stayed strong enough to fight through every treatment and that they can finally begin dreaming about a normal childhood again. This fall, Madi will start kindergarten, a milestone her family once feared they may never get to see. And the little boy holding her hand is Noah.
A few months ago, life looked very different.
Emily was the mom who never missed a bedtime story.
The one who packed lunches, kissed scraped knees, and made every ordinary day feel special.

“You have breast cancer.”
Everything changed.
There were surgeries.
Chemotherapy treatments.

Rita didn’t just raise children. She gave them a home when the world had already walked away. Years ago, she sat outside that old ranch house with three little ones tucked close in her arms. There was laughter in the air, small hands reaching for her, and a kind of love surrounding them that didn’t need many words.
