THIS! What a beautiful picture for a couple of reasons. This picture is the perfect example of community inclusion. One of our groups has been working at watering all the beautiful flowers in downtown New Philly in that beautiful golf cart. The other group has been cleaning for the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau. And they crossed paths today at the perfect time. We are so thankful for our relationships with community. Community inclusion is the practice of ensuring all individuals—regardless of ability, background, or identity—have equal access to participate in and contribute to their society. It means not just being present in a neighborhood or school, but being actively respected, valued, and empowered to build meaningful relationships. Core elements that define an inclusive community include:Choice: Having the freedom to make decisions about daily activities, hobbies, and personal goals. Accessibility: Modifying environments (accommodations) so physical or sensory limitations do not prevent participation. Belonging: The feeling of true connection, where people are valued for their uniqueness and treated with dignity. We are so very thankful for all the numerous employment locations who hire our clients. Our relationships in the area are very important. Our clients have the opportunity to earn a paycheck and feel pride for a job well done. These gentlemen in the pictures enjoy working at the New Philadelphia Fire Department and have earned much respect there as well as being included as "one of the guys", sharing stories, jokes, laughter. Belonging! Community inclusion is very important and this relationship with the fire department shines at it! #
