In a sweeping survey of American popular music of the 1960s and beyond, one group of studio session musicians set the standard for production genius and mass appeal. In the words Debby Harry (BLONDIE), these are “…the real unsung heroes of all those hit records”, and in the words of Brian Wilson (THE BEACH BOYS), “The Wrecking Crew…were the ones with all the spirit and all the know-how”. Celebrate the pros behind the pop with filmmaker Denny Tedesco and original Wrecking Crew member, Don Randi, in attendance for a fundraiser showing for local nonprofit INFINITE MUSIC.

Infinite Music will bring filmmaker Denny Tedesco back to the Bay for his hit documentary about The Wrecking Crew band of studio musicians, and we’ll check in on some classic coming-of-age tales for the whole family, (with some more family-friendly than others) 🌞

See one of the MB Maritime Museum’s prize pieces (The AVALON DSRV submarine) in action in the ultimate nail biting Cold War cat-and-mouse epic. An international chase of a rogue submarine whose captains’ intentions are anyone’s guess, and the military gambles made with the nuclear fate of the world at stake. Stars Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, James Earl Jones, Stellan Skarsgaard, and more. The Maritime Museum will host a Q&A and VIP meet and greet at the show with three former Avalon crew members.

Join us for a special showing of The Sheep Detectives at the Bay Theatre, hosted by the Morro Bay Yarn Shop and Estero Bay Art & Craft! 🧶🎨🍿

This Crafternoon Movie Event takes place Saturday, May 16 at 1:00 pm.

Tickets are $10 and will be available for purchase only at the Bay Theatre starting at 12:30 pm the day of the event.

The Sheep Detectives is rated PG and runs for 1 hour and 48 minutes. It’s a light, down-to-earth mystery about an unlikely group of small-town detectives, who just happen to be a sheep.

A “crafternoon” showing means the theater will keep the lights up just enough so you can actually see what you’re making while the movie plays. It’s not a class, but a fun place to work on your project and enjoy a movie at the same time. Bring your embroidery, drawing, knitting, crochet, or any small (and non-messy) portable craft, and settle in for an afternoon of making and watching.
