Fans of Film at Fine Arts Theatre, Maynard Celebrating the art of film-making by promoting independent, art, documentary, foreign, classic films

We are a group of local residents who want to have films shown at our local theater that are of interest outside of the usual first-run movies. We show foreign, classic, documentary, art and independent films each 2nd Tuesday and Wednesday of the month. We also aim to support local business by keeping our special independent movie theater in business by increasing clientele and getting the word out about this special place.

Join us for a special book signing event with Benita VanWinkle, author of "America’s Hometown Movie Theaters: Please Remain Standing".

The event begins at 12:30 PM with a book signing in the Maynard Fine Arts Theatre lobby. At 1:00 PM, the author will give a slideshow presentation, followed by a Q&A.

Early access copies will be available for purchase at a special discounted rate. This beautiful hardcover book features 395 individual movie theaters built before 1965, sharing the history of each one. Maynard Fine Arts Theatre is proudly featured on page 360.

There are a whole lot of events at Fine Arts Theatre, Maynard. Check this out!!

Join us this June as we celebrate the unveiling of a new community mural at the historic Maynard Fine Arts Theatre. Created through the participation of local students, seniors, group homes, and community organizations, the project reflects the creativity, collaboration, and spirit of Maynard. Enjoy a book signing, community celebration, and mural unveiling as we honor the people and stories that helped bring this vision to life.

Join us for a special evening celebrating and preserving the history of Maynard Fine Arts Theatre.

This short film was created to preserve the theatre’s story from 1949 to today, featuring memories, moments, and stories from those connected to MFAT.

After the film, guests are invited to join an open discussion and share their own MFAT memories. The evening will also include a champagne toast and light refreshments as we celebrate the community that has made the theatre so special.
