Don't forget! We are playing Casper (1995) at 1 PM today for the kiddos! We also moved some of the scarier mannequins out of the auditorium just to be safe… though some weren't too happy about it. 😅

We loved meeting everyone who stopped by our informal open house during Soup, Stew, Chili, & Brew in Madison today, including our extra-tall visitors on stilts!

Thank you to Candice Fulk-McDole & Missy Brawner Demaree of Century 21 River Valley for helping make an afternoon at the movies affordable for our community!

We’re also raffling off John Dilworth's Courage the Cowardly Dog: The Complete Series on DVD, Program Coordinator Cord Montgomery’s personal favorite kids’ cartoon mixing spooky adventures and comedy. See you there!

John Carpenter’s THE THING hits the Ohio Theatre on Thursday, October 15 at 7 PM!

Kurt Russell. Antarctica. A monster that could look like anyone in the room. Spend $5 on a night you won’t forget and leave with trust issues.

Here’s a little encouragement from Bravo’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments: the paranoia, the tension, the spectacularly disgusting practical effects. This is one to experience on the big screen with a crowd.

Never seen it? Come find out what all the fuss is about. Already a fan? Bring someone who hasn’t. Their reactions alone should be worth the price of admission.

Thursday, October 15 | 7 PM
Doors open at 6 PM | $5 admission

Thanks to all those who came out for Psycho this evening! Psycho has concluded, but the questionable motels continue! Next up is the cult classic B-movie horror comedy Motel Hell on Friday, October 9 at 7 PM. Doors open at 6 PM, and tickets are only $5! Grab your $5 tickets for Motel hell here: ohiotheatre.info/motelhell

It was really cool to see some new faces in the theatre tonight and even cooler to hear how many people were experiencing Psycho for the first time. Getting to share movies like this with an audience is what Tales at the Ohio is all about. Even Norman Bates’ mom made a surprise appearance, which was awfully thoughtful of her.

We’ve got more movies, fun surprises, raffles, and giveaways coming throughout October to get you ready for Halloween. For now, we’re checking out of the Bates Motel and into somewhere with equally questionable hospitality.

Thank you to Scott Neal for sponsoring Motel Hell!

Motel Hell is one of our most requested movies, and we’re finally showing it at The Ohio this Friday!

Farmer Vincent and his sister Ida run a roadside motel and a smoked-meat business with a deeply concerning supply chain. Roger Ebert described the characters as “simple, cheerful, smiling, earnest, and resourceful cannibals.”

If you like your horror weird, your comedy dark, and your motel owners under investigation, come watch this one with us!
