This 19 year old ex-cheerleader now an Air Force Security Forces Sniper, was watching a road in Pakistan that led to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target (she shot him).

It turned out he
was a bomb maker for the Taliban, and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a U.S. patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.
The interesting fact of this story is the shot was measured at 725 yards. She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb. The shot went through his re**um and into the bomb which detonated; he was blown to pieces. The Air Force made a motivational poster of her. (Folks, that's a shot 25 yards longer than seven football fields) and the last thing that came out of his mouth ... was his ass!

Hi fellow Conservatives! We hope you are having a fine summer, albeit pretty interesting, with all the issues becoming more and more in our face! But that is why we want to reach out to those who want/need to feel connected and bolstered.
We are putting together a group to go to see 'Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party' at the *Cinemark Theater in Fort Collins. The movie showing will be on Saturday, July 23, at 4:40pm. We will try to get there early enough (15-20 minutes) to try to be able to sit together as a group.
Also, after the movie, we will go next door to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner and conversation. (Of course, this is optional.) So, plan to spend a whole evening with fellow patriots and conservatives!
I need a headcount so that we will try to have an idea of how many seats to TRY to block off at the theater. I don't know if they even allow such a thing, so it's very important to try to get there about 15-20 minutes early to go in at the same time when they open it up. Take the gender, take the ethnicity, take the political party and agendas out of the picture... and really think about what your kids and grandkids have to inherit in this country. Put aside your biases... and just look at what things need to be addressed, whether it's taken out, or put in... It looks like our government isn't going to do it; they've showed us today, folks...it's up to us. To think, to pray... and to vote.

Our Friday, Oct. 30 CCU featured speaker is Bob Schaffer. CCU meets at Johnson's Corner in Loveland. The dinner portion of the meeting is at 6PM, with a reservation (call Carrie 970-292-8149) or the speaker portion is at 7PM, with no reservation necessary.
Bob is one of Colorado's foremost and most experienced
education policy leaders and experts. As a former State Senator and US Congressman, Bob served as Vice-chairman of the Senate Education Committee and as a Member of the US House Education and the Workforce Committee where he was Vice-chairman of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Youth, and Families. He has been involved in nearly all aspects of public education.

CCU has been asked to share this very important and timely information for families who live in the Thompson School District. Please share it with your families and friends; we need to spread the word. Especially those who are conservative and want to see a school board with a conservative group of members to balance the liberal group that seems to be growing and producing worrisome issues with long-lasting effects. If anybody has been following what is going on with the school board and what the liberal agenda is saying and doing to push out the conservative voice, then you will see the importance of this information.

1. Parent choice for their child's education
2. Local control, not Union control
3. Fiscal responsible
4. Will move the district in student-based funding
5. Pay for performance; don't we want to pay our high-performing teachers higher salaries? Why should salary increases be driven by seat time and taking more college classes? When neither has shown an improvement in student success.
6. Equitable funding for all our kids whether in a traditional school or a charter school... is it fair that charter schools do not receive their share of local tax revenue?

We were delighted to host the "Insight to Action Forum" for Americans for Prosperity (AFP) on Tuesday night with featured speaker, Anita MonCrief. Her engaging and informative presentation about her first-hand experiences with ACORN, as well as her gradual transition from passionate liberalism to passionate conservatism was riveting. What a great evening to get to know such a brave woman! We want to thank everyone who came out to hear Anita, and to support our two groups, AFP and CCU!
