Sharing Lauren's recent post; food for thot!: "Interesting how quickly we adapt and crave more. Much more. 10 years ago, the 106' Salesforce digital waterfall was an astounding digital art achievement, gathering millions of fans within minutes of its posting online. Then we adored 3d characters popping out of LED displays in wild optical illusions, added different screen shapes and structures, totally devoured people in massive reworkings of classic art, and visualized machines dreaming on-screen. Artists scrambled to create the next 'wow-factor' digital art piece to project or play on digital screens. Now we seem stuck in what art critics are labelling screensaver digital art. How quickly we've become unimpressed, craving more. Even astoundingly complex AI visualizations created by Refik have been demeaned as "digital wallpaper." What is digital wallpaper exactly? And what isn't? In a recent conversation with a client, they said, "We're not sure what we're looking for, but we know we don't want a digital wallpaper..." Interesting. So do you wonder where we go from here? Interactiver? Reactiver? Generative (maybe generative is just endless digital wallpaper?). What's the next astounding digital art achievement...?"

Digital art pieces perfectly in-sync with the environment and our client's aesthetic, plus, a state-of-the-art touch. Silk screen botanicals on transparent LED displays create an ethereal drama reacting to passersby and endlessly generating different behaviors, even completely changing form as they move through their life cycles. Gonna be pretty cool!

It's the 10th anniversary of ' amazing little immersive, interactive installation for Royal Caribbean ! What a challenge, with wildly varying resolutions & types of displays (LED, LCE, projection), but what a reward when it all came together. Those touring the immersive stateroom didn't want to leave, they'd keep changing the scene from nighttime to sunset to sunrise to tropical storm. More and more people wandered in, till the tiny stateroom was full, all chatting and laughing and soaking-up the immersive vibe. And that's the moment it all feels worthwhile. Happy Anniversary, "stateroom of the future"! Doesn't have to be big to be immersive 😉

Fun. Unique. Personal. Our 'Reflected Emotion' debuted on the trade show circuit at SNA Displays booth this yr in Vegas! A generative, real-time, interactive installation collected data on the emotional vibe of infocomm'ers. Emotions or selfies selected on a kiosk immediately displayed on the big screen to wow us all. From 6 emotion choices, the emot-o-meter recorded the overall vibe at to be 'Happy'!! Thanks to SNA for making this a fun, collaborative, unique event!

Wait, did that painting just... move? Imperceptibly at first, then an explosion of color as 3-d paint flows emerge from original art, appearing to escape its frame, creating art itself, evolving into the next painting. Our generative 'Living Art' is at this year, at Nanolumens booth N7321. C'mon over and see for yourself. Beware of the 'wet paint' signs!
