Hello Rail Fans, today I joined the Tehachapi Loop Railroad Club -www.tlrc.club - as a model railroader. The Tehachapi Loop, for folks that don't know, is a loop in the village of Tehachapi where trains go over themselves to gain altitude to make over the mountains. Various annual events are hosted by the Club, and I'm proud to be a member. . .

Passenger service to Tehachapi was discontinued during the early seventies. Nowadays this is as good as it gets: an occasional Amtrak train passing through. ...

The Ol' Rock City Model Railroad is still in pieces, waiting to be put back together. A lot of moving has broken a lot of the framework, and warped other parts. Track has broken off everywhere, and the entire Kit N kabbodle has been outdoors at the Save-a-Life ranch in Mojave for the past 2 years. The year before that it was in storage in Sylmar, where the storage people moved it around and broke a lot of legs and framework as well. I'm trying to get it set back up in the garage here, but I"ve got to pour a cement floor first, and every month my cement money goes towards the mortgage for Save-a-LIfe, so all I can do is hope to get it back together before this winter. Anyone wanting to help would be more than welcome. Thanks. Railroad Ruben
