When I was studying film at SFSU a colleague introduced me to Allen Daviau who was in town shooting a commercial. He was the most unpretentious, kindhearted artist I have ever met. For those several days during the shoot he took me under his wing and explained every shot and how he lit it. I will be forever grateful. He inspired me to strive and make beautiful, enlightened films.
