Meurer Summer Movie Spectacular

We've reached the dog days of summer, and as such, we're sending our Summer Movie Spectacular out right with 500 DAYS OF SUMMER vs. THE WAY WAY BACK, only there's a twist: as many of you know, we'll also be celebrating my birthday that night, which means I reserve the right to hijack the evening and force you all to watch a movie of my choosing, but we'll still put it to a vote. So if you're down to watch a movie in our backyard, be sure to stop by Saturday, August 20th at 8pm. See you then!

Because we sure as hell have missed you since our last backyard movie screening. That's why we're getting the band back together as it were with our penultimate summer screening as THE WIZARD OF OZ goes up against BRINGING UP BABY in the battle of the classics!!

We had a great time this past Saturday watching Aladdin in the backyard, complete with bonus Robin Williams outtakes and the revelation that is our new favorite actor/television personality/hero/unboxer, Joey Bragg (That's right, I'm dropping inside references in an attempt to guilt those of you who have yet to come to attend. Is it working?).

THIS SATURDAY, JULY 23RD, we'll be celebrating America's past time as THE SANDLOT goes head to head with MAJOR LEAGUE! Of course, no baseball event would be complete without hot dogs (and chicken-link sausages, for you non beef-eaters), so we'll be grilling up some dogs before the first pitch/frame of the movie. To entice you even more, I'll be making a homemade beer-infused mustard. That's right, BEER INFUSED MUSTARD!!!

Beer, Hot Dogs and baseball. If that's not summer, I don't know what is.

Arrive between 7:45 and 8, film will start around 8:30.

Thought we'd forgotten about this Saturday's movie screening, didn't you? Well you'd be wrong. We only forgot to post about it on Facebook to remind you all that it's happening, but rest assured, it IS!

Saturday, July 16th, we're pitting Disney Animation against Pixar as ALADDIN goes toe to toe with INSIDE OUT!! Which movie will we watch? which movie will make you cry more? Come to the Meurer Summer Movie Spectacular this Saturday and find out!

As usual, come on over between 7:30 to 7:45. Movie will start around 8:15.

Greetings one and all!

Hope you're having a wonderful father's day with your dad/children/husband/wife!

As you may or may not know, we had to cancel last saturday's inaugural Meurer Summer Movie Spectacular showing because my wife tripped, fell, hit her head against a pole and busted it open. She got 4 staples in her head, which is pretty dope, but not as dope as the movie options we have coming THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 25TH!!!

We're pitting two explosive movies against each other to get you pumped for the 4th of July as DIE HARD goes up against TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY!

Who will win? Show up and find out!

Friends!

Do you love outdoor movie screenings hosted by Eat See Hear or Street Food Cinema, but hate having to pay a fortune to attend or sit around with a bunch of L.A. weirdos you don't know? Well why don't you come sit around a few weirdos you do know as Jeff and Julie host the Meurer Summer Movie Spectacular outdoor movie screenings, straight from their own backyard.

It's going to be potluck style, so if you do come, we ask that you bring a snack or beverage of some kind.

We'll vote on which movie to watch each night. Every vote counts, with no electoral college whatsoever! The schedule is as follows:

June 11th - Comedy: Little Miss Sunshine OR Best in Show

June 25th - Old-School Action: Die Hard OR Terminator 2: Judgement Day
