I’m super bummed and saddened to hear about the passing of Danny. My wife and I considered him to be a good friend for many years. I actually bought one of my first totems from Danny and I remember thinking this guy was different a cut above the rest. A bold, no bu****it, get s**t done kind of guy that didn’t want you to quit on something or ever feel sorry for yourself, always follow your passions kinda ethos. To me those are pretty damn good qualities in a human. He will be dearly missed by the tiki community and all close to him. He was a giant and may he rest in peace and may his memory live on forever.

Mo********er this is absolutely awful news. The white rum from was basically perfection. I used it in so many recipes because of how amazing it tasted. I guess now it’s no more. Really bummed about this. I have other options that will step up BUT it’s not the same.

and I would like to thank for their unwavering support year after year at Tiki Oasis and beyond. The Planteray team is full of rockstars on top of having one of the most diverse product lines on the market. This year we even stretched further into the product line of Maison Ferrand using the Mathilde Liqueur Poire which is nothing short of fantastic. In addition we used Xaymaca, Stiggins, Three Star and Cut N Dry. All of these products are perfect for single and batched cocktails. We look forward to this great continued relationship and coming up with more great cocktails with Planteray.

When and I first decided to approach about bartending the room party we knew we wanted to feature Shelly’s talents but also be involved in the process because we’ve always done all the room party drinks ourselves along with our talented mixology and rum expert friend . Shelley got together with us months before and we started the process at the home bar inputting ideas back and forth. We wanted to highlight Shelly’s specialities so I figured she’d want to start with a honey butter mix but I knew I didn’t want traditional gardenia mix. So Shelley already came prepared ready to go with a honey butter cream that featured ginger and Mathilde Liqueur Poire from Maison Ferrand. We then picked the rums from our sponsor and added the lime and passion fruit juice not syrup to complete the recipe. Bold, rich and bucked the norms of a traditional light refreshing cocktail at a daytime party because after all it was a prom party so excess was on the menu. Oh and have no fear your light refreshing cocktail was your slushy you got in line. It was all part of the plan. 😉
