ADJUSTED SCHEDULE!

Last weekend's unpredictable weather led us to postpone our annual "Terror In The Woods" horror double feature at Ijams Nature Center, and as a result we've made a few adjustments to this year's Movies Under The Stars lineup!

Terror In The Woods (pairing the original TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE with 2003's WRONG TURN) has been moved to Friday July 10, and we'll be honoring all ticket reservations to the original date.

Originally scheduled for that date, ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN has been rescheduled to Friday September 4. Again, existing reservations will be honored... and if you've got tickets but can't make it to the new date, keep an eye on your email this week for refund details.

Unfortunately lost in the scheduling shuffle is MOULIN ROUGE... let us know if you'd like to see it back on the lineup next year!

HIGH NOON • 16mm 'Film on Film' Screening Sunday July 5 • 4K digital encore Wednesday July 8

Though off-model for a Western and controversial for its clear anti-McCarthyist allegory, HIGH NOON has become a celebrated classic for the genre, and we're pleased to present a 16mm 'Film On Film' screening of the film as part of our July "Hard To Be Free" series of American essentials. (Can't make it to Sunday's 16mm show? We'll be screening HIGH NOON digitally in its 4K restoration on Wednesday July 8!

HIGH NOON (1952, 16mm/4K) | Former marshal Will Kane (Gary Cooper) is preparing to leave the small town of Hadleyville, New Mexico, with his new bride, Amy (Grace Kelly), when he learns that local criminal Frank Miller has been set free and is coming to seek revenge on the marshal who turned him in. When he starts recruiting deputies to fight Miller, Kane is discouraged to find that the people of Hadleyville turn cowardly when the time comes for a showdown, and he must face Miller and his cronies alone.

"This is a film of integrity and purpose, a revelation of human character and a masterpiece of the story telling art." - Boston Globe

CAPE FEAR (1991) • Friday July 10 & Saturday July 11 at Central Cinema

Following the success of GOODFELLAS, famously movie-obsessed Martin Scorsese treated himself to the only bona fide remake of his career: a snarling, smash-hit adaptation of the 1962 thriller CAPE FEAR starring his muse Robert De Niro.

CAPE FEAR (1991) | When attorney Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte) knowingly withholds evidence that would acquit violent s*x offender Max Cady (Robert De Niro) of r**e charges, Max spends 14 years in prison. But after Max's release, knowing about Sam's deceit, he devotes his life to stalking and destroying the Bowden family. When practical attempts to stop Max fail, Sam realizes that he must act outside the law to protect his wife and daughter.

"Proves that when a maverick virtuoso like Scorsese sets his mind to it, making ''mainstream'' movies is one more thing he can do better than just about anyone else." - Entertainment Weekly

We regret to announce that scheduling difficulties have made it necessary to cancel next Sunday's (6/28) NIGHT OF THE DEMONS Q&A screening with Amelia Kinkade.

We apologize for any disappointment... but we also want to take the opportunity to remind horror fans that this was just one of many events tied to the terrific homegrown FrankenCon horror convention, which runs Friday 6/26 thru Sunday 6/28 at the airport Hilton. In addition to special guests and photo ops, FrankenCon will be offering on-site screening events including their new FrankenFilmFest and a cast commentary screening of the original TOXIC AVENGER!

FrankenCon will also be presenting a Thursday 6/25 Central Cinema Q&A screening of 1987's STREET TRASH with actor and associate producer Frank Farel (tickets on sale now via our website), and we also urge you to join the Central Cinema crew at Ijams Nature Center on Saturday 6/27 for our annual Knoxville Horror Film Fest 'Terror in the Woods' double feature of THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE and WRONG TURN!
