This week, please join us at the KINGSTON FIREHOUSE THEATRE on MARCH 12 @ 6:00 PM for a special screening of the newly restored 2002 film THE BUSINESS OF FANCYDANCING, written and directed by Sherman Alexie. There will be a post-screening Q&A with filmmaker, writer and poet Sherman Alexie, actors Gene Tagaban and Swil Kanim, cinematographer Holly Taylor, and producer Larry Estes.

THE BUSINESS OF FANCYDANCING tells the story of former Spokane Reservation best friends Seymour and Aristotle. Since their high school graduation, they have taken different paths. Both ventured off to college in Seattle, but while Seymour embraced the opportunities of the white world, Aristotle returned home embittered. Sixteen years later, they are brought together following the sudden death of an old childhood buddy. Seymour, now an openly gay poet and unofficial spokesman for Native American, is met with resentment on "the rez." At the wake, tensions are heightened, and Aristotle's long festering bitterness is dangerously exposed.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEKENDFROM THE FIREHOUSE THEATRE! This weekend we are showing WICKED: FOR GOOD and ZOOTOPIA 2. WICKED: FOR GOOD is in the main stage and ZOOTOPIA 2 is in our backstage. Because the backstage has limited seating, we encourage advanced ticket sales for ZOOTOPIA 2, particularly for this weekend, as we are expecting larger audiences than usual during the holiday.. We will be showing ZOOTOPIA 2 four times a day to accommodate more people, and we would hate to turn anyone away.

This Memorial Day Weekend, the KINGSTON FIREHOUSE THEATRE is expecting higher than normal turnout for the first big movies of the summer(?), LILO & STITCH and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE-THE FINAL RECKONING. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE the PRE-PURCHASE of tickets or EARLY ARRIVAL, particularly for LILO & STITCH because it is playing in the smaller theater. We have added extra shows of LILO & STITCH throughout the weekend and hate to turn anyone away. Tickets available at kingstonfirehouse.com

This week at the KINGSTON FIREHOUSE THEATRE we will be presenting INHERITANCE for ONE NIGHT ONLY on Wednesday, May 21st @ 7 PM. INHERITANCE, made on Bainbridge Island by Emergence Films, a female-focused filmmaking production company, tells the story of two estranged sisters who reunite after the passing of their father. Rachel Noll James (star, writer) and her co-producer Sienna Beckman will be on hand for a talkback after the film.

And just in time for Memorial Day weekend, we will be opening both MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE-THE FINAL RECKONING and LILO & STITCH for a PREVIEW NIGHT on Thursday, May 22. The regular run begins on Friday, May 23. Due to the size and scope of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, it will play in the Main Stage. We have added more showtimes for LILO & STITCH because of the limited seating in the Backstage, but advanced ticket purchases for LILO & STITCH are highly recommended!
