Here’s a quick look at the Google announcement event at the Laborers and Contractors Training Center in High Hill with Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google, following the company’s historic $15 billion investment and new data center project in Montgomery County.

Workforce development, apprenticeship opportunities, and thousands of future union construction jobs are helping build the future of Missouri and creating long-term opportunities for working families across our state.

Missouri union workers are helping build the next generation of infrastructure and technology.

Google’s investment in Montgomery County will create thousands of construction jobs during the buildout and hundreds of permanent careers once operational. Every direct job created supports nearly nine additional local jobs throughout the regional economy.

The investment in the Laborers and Contractors Training Center means more than 2,300 laborers and apprentices will receive the training needed to build these major projects safely and successfully.

When we invest in training and apprenticeship programs, we invest in Missouri families and communities.
