Louis Gossett Jr. (1936-2024)

Silent River Film Festival expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the Oscar-winning actor Mr. Louis Gossett Jr. on his passing. He was an inspiration to many in the industry and beyond. We at the festival were honored to host Mr. Gossett Jr. in 2014 for the screening of his film and the Life Time Achievement Award presented to him!

Congratulations to Michelle Yeoh for winning the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once." We are proud to share that Michelle Yeoh won the "River Glory Award" at the Silent River Film Festival under the direction of Kalpna Singh-Chitnis, for producing her documentary "Padyatra: A Green Odyssey" in 2013.

We also want to congratulate, India, for winning the Oscars for the best song, Naatu Naatu from RRR, and The Elephant Whisperer for the Best Documentary Short.
