ARTx is the research and development lab of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Focusing on experimental and experiential programming, ARTx works to remake the traditional museum as a space for innovation, participation, and surprise. Projects include IMA Family Days, Avant Brunch, Pop-Up Park, Cereal Cinema, Monster Drawing Rally, Indy Art Swap, Drawing Club, Art X-Fit, and much more. ARTx also hosts

talks, presents performances, and commissions installations by local and nationally-known contemporary artists. ARTx is administered by the department of Audience Experiences and Performance, but is a cross-disciplinary endeavor, engaging IMA staff from curatorial, public programs, production, and audience engagement. ARTx is made possible by a gift from the Efroymson Family Fund.

These are some of the purrfect pets that will be available for adoption during the Internet Cat Video Festival at IMA. Animal Outreach of Shelby County and the Humane Society of Indianapolis Pet Adoption Wagon will be on site at 6pm.

Monks from the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana have started work on a peace mandala in our Pulliam Family Great Hall. They will be adding to the mandala during all open hours at IMA through noon on Saturday, August 5 (Family Day: Breathe In, Breathe Out).

Monks from the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center begin a world peace mandala today.

The mandala will be completed during Family Day: Breathe In, Breathe Out on Saturday, August 5.
