A first look at The Invite. On view at Cinema Paradiso Hollywood from July 17-30. Olivia Wilde's 3rd film, from a screenplay by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, is a remake of the 2020 Spanish film The People Upstairs by Cesc Gay. It stars Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton and premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2026.

Early reviews by Owen Gleiberman of Variety deemed it to be "marvelously entertaining" and compared it to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Adam Chitwood of TheWrap also likened it to the same. The late great Mike Nichols first directed Whose Afraid of Virgina Woolf? in 1966, which garnered13 Oscar nods, based on Edward Albee's 1962 Tony Award winning play.
