Mike here. Tonight I'm watching a 2018 movie where Keanu Reeves is a neuroscientist that when faced with tragedy, breaks all ethical boundaries to try to bring his family back from death. What he finds himself living with instead is: Replicants.

Mike here. A 5th grade teacher in Florida is currently under investigation and may lose her job, because she showed a Disney film in class. Not because it was particularly violent, or because it had a running theme of trying to live in harmony with one's ecosystem, but because one teenage male character flirted awkwardly with a teen male friend of his in one scene. If you have access to it, I suggest you give Disney's Strange World a watch. It's a very creative adventure/fantasy/comedy movie, rated PG. Watch it with your kids, if you have them. It'll offend presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis if you do, and do we need more reason than that?

Mike here. For those who didn't know, today was the funeral for the original founder of this page, Chris, AKA Monkey. I was unable to attend the event, but wanted to post my own goodbye here in a way I thought he'd appreciate.

Tonight I'm watching a 2018 Japanese film (with fan subs) for a comedy that explains the situation right in the title: "When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends to be Dead."

Mike here. Tonight I watched an old musical that is based upon a Tony winning Broadway play from the mid-1950s. Catchy songs, lots of elaborate dance numbers, and a good pro-union message in this one.

Unfortunately, there's also sexual harassment in the workplace and a violently toxic relationship that's just... glossed over. "It was a different time," indeed. Doris Day is a power player in The Pajama Game.
