I voted. And then I immediately wrapped myself up in soft handwoven blanket fabric. And now we wait. And no matter what, we continue to hold our values and to evolve and grow as needed.

More than anything something that has been striking to me is the power of being able to share with each other, both listening and expressing. To bring curiosity to each other’s experiences. To really listen. And the sheer lack of skills and awareness in doing this authentically. How so many of have not learned or were not modeled those skills. And so it’s understandable, right?

I’ve spent my entire adult life seeking them, practicing them..and I’m still and will always be learning. I feel a deep calling to work with people in this realm more intentionally. This election cycle has only deepened and highlighted that for me.

I voted for Kamala Harris, not because I believe she is our savior, the answer to all the things that need tending. She is not. No president ever will be. And more than anything, for me, her stance on Israel/Palestine lacks the kind of leadership I value and strive for. To be a model for and create pathways for real resolution and to stand for the value of all people’s lives. I crave leaders who model the wisdom of deeper inner and relational work. More and more people are centering this work and I vision into our views of leadership doing the same.

I voted for her because I believe this is the correct choice to be able to continue having discourse that is not rooted in shaming. No leadership rooted in shame will be effective for a democracy. I have watched Trump, really listened, not just clips, but full speeches. And they are rooted in shame and shaming. Through studying relationships for years and years, I know that relationships rooted in shame are doomed to deliver any potential you may in earnest *hope* cling to.

And no leader will ever be the answer. Just as in inner and relational healing work is an ever unfolding into new lays growth..so is democracy. A choice that is made over and over and over again.

In forever curiosity and loving understanding,

Danielle

Happy New Moon in Scorpio, Happy Samhain, Halloween, and this turning of the season! ✨🌑✨

Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I came to the western mass studio and wove all day. And..well into the late late night too. I slept on the floor at the studio and started weaving again when I woke up this morning. It’s just like that sometimes. The inspiration. I honestly love what I’m weaving and am so lit up to see how it changes once off the loom and washed! 👀!!

The colors, the texture..they got me. And when that inspiration lights up, throwing every single pick is a joy.

The depth of alignment that I was here, in this way in my being, at this time of transition, thin veils and integration is deeply profound to me and I am grateful.

I’m really looking forward to sharing about some upcoming ways to connect at the studio, look out for that over the coming weeks!

WEAVER + COMMUNITY MONTHLY MEET UP / STUDIO OPEN HOUSE!!

Please RSVP so I can send you directions / studio info and so I can have a general idea of how many people are coming!!

Starting in May the Western Mass studio will be opening our studio once a month to welcome community to gather! Weavers, friends + family, interest in visiting the studio, or you’re just looking to connect with others, all are welcome!

A studio for weaving textiles and weaving community and relationships, the monthly meet up is definitely an opportunity to check out the studio if you’re interested in weaving or becoming a part of the studio, but the intention for the monthly meetups is to meet each other! Connect!

There will always be tea and snacks available and each month I’ll be creating different ways to connect, evolving over time. And maybe even try your hand at weaving! =) I’m imagining future potlucks, inspiring arts, craft, and design movies nights, community weaving rituals, weavers sharing their work, people sharing on awesome topics, creating together, sharing stories, dropping into meaningful conversations and so much more! But let’s get connecting and co-create in this special space I’m so honored and excited to share with you!

Each month we’ll gather from 3-5pm on a Sunday. May 12th and June 9th are up on the website. RSVP for directions!

And with all the big transitions, there’s only been a deepening into the vision for the studio in Western Mass. A deepening into what I’m wanting and needing personally and moving towards as the foundation for the life I’m creating, and wanting to share in the spaces and the offerings that I’m creating. Something I am and will continue to be growing into.

Some key words are community, connection, play, creativity, weaving relationships, self, home, self love, powers, values.

I wanted to create and experience more sustained growth and commitment, personally. And so I’ve been visioning into and honing in on how that will come through in the studio as a living breathing space, it will grow and it will evolve.

More and more I want to create and offer the space as a sense and feeling of home. When you are there it is your space, too. We co-create there. Of the two locations (Western Mass + Upstate Ny), it is where I am offering classes to learn how to weave on floor looms. I am calling it Floor Loom Studio Weaving. The core of this offering is to experience the full process of setting up the loom with my intention of fostering your independence on the loom, so that you will feel confident in the process.

My desire is to build a community space of weavers, sharing space in creativity, storytelling, inspiration, and connection.

I am now offering Beginners 1 + 2, which are two 8 week sessions designed to nurture your confidence, independence, and experience.

Your creative powers are welcome here.

After the two sessions there is the opportunity to stay on at the studio monthly to keep creating at your own pace and have support and guidance to keep learning, bring your own ideas into form, and to keep exploring and playing!

For more information and all the details, visit the website and feel free to reach out directly with any questions.

The New Moon is in Aquarius this month and falls on Friday, however, our circle each month is held on the Thursday closest to the New Moon. 🌚

Join us in exploring where this New Moon falls in your chart, general collective themes, and how this may land for you. Each circle we will share our intentions, what’s most present for us and what we are wanting to bring into being, begin to explore and plant them seeds of intention!

An extra special part of these circles are the handmade looms we will be using to weave our intentions and bring awareness to our ever present and available and I’m so excited to share them with you.

If you are feeling called to commit to a full 6 month cycle (Aquarius New Moon to The Aquarius Full Moon 6 months from now), you are invited to sign up for the full 6 months!

Every Thread Handwoven in Oakland CA

This is Every Thread Handwoven. The name was born from the consideration that every thread is, in fact, hand woven in our fabrics. Each thread is manipulated and threaded to create a variety of fabrics.

My interest in weaving was sparked in 2012 when I was living in Argentina and happened upon a beautiful weaving shop + studio in Iguazu. I was mesmerized by the looms and the fabrics. Once back home in the Bay Area my friend I am forever grateful for guided me to a weaving studio in Berkeley Ca where I began weaving immediately, studying on Swedish looms and falling in love with the process and fiber.

In 2017 I was able to live a dream of studying with a most amazingly genius master weaver, Becky Ashenden in Shelburne Falls Ma at Vavstuga Weaving School. I spent 4 months in an immersion program, weaving everyday and learning how to work with many different types of materials and specifically working on Swedish Glimakra looms. What an absolutely incredible experience.

Now, back in Oakland Ca, I am weaving small batch handwoven goods and am launching my first set of workshops this August! More to come on this soon!!
