GOOCHLAND DRIVE-IN THEATER GOOCHLAND DRIVE-IN THEATER Family-oriented drive-in movie theater dreamed up and built in 2009. Admission is 1 ticket per vehicle (with up to 7 people).

We pride ourselves on providing affordable entertainment and food in a wholesome outdoor setting. Our season runs from Spring to Fall (generally March to November)

We typically show Double-Features of new/current-release/retro movies on Fridays and Saturdays.....plus, during the summer, we also open on Sundays and various weeknights with Single-Feature Specials. Our Pre-Show is a favorite of our

patrons.....where we start off the show with vintage movie previews, commercials, and cartoon shorts! Admission and Menu prices are purposely inexpensive....and always the best deal around. Our Snack Bar offers classic American fare + Gluten-Free + Vegetarian options.

*** NO OUTSIDE FOOD, BEVERAGES, CONTAINERS, ALCOHOL, DRUGS ***
(Failure to comply will result in expulsion from the premises without refund. Local law enforcement will be immediately notified for those in possession of alcohol/marijuana.) Showtime at Dusk (the exact start time will vary slightly week-to-week since the sun sets at different times throughout the seasons. We will always post the opening and start times on our page and website :)

Arrive early! One hour before showtime isn't early. Get your favorite spot and enjoy dinner from our Snack Bar -- then let the kids have fun on the playground while burning off some energy before the show starts! We also accept most forms of payment. Restrooms are clean and air-conditioned...with handicap accessibility. Paved Handicap parking is available at our Main Screen.....adjacent to the Snack Bar and Restrooms. Smoking is permitted ONLY in the designated area behind the Snack Bar. No alcohol/drugs...zero tolerance...local law enforcement will be immediately contacted. Quiet, well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome....except....on the Lawn Section at The Grove.

🌙 We had a GREAT night on Friday with the PREMIERE of Backrooms followed by Obsession in The Grove.

💫 On the Main Screen, our guests who stayed for the second movie LOVED SPACEBALLS which played after THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU, which are both tons of fun to watch on the biggest screen around!

📽 WATCHING A MOVIE ON THE LAWN AT THE GROVE is one of the most unique experiences at GDIT - we're the only drive-in (that we're aware of) in the USA that has a screen like this.

🎟 GROVE TICKETS ARE SOLD IN TWO TYPES -
CAR SPOTS (where you watch from your car) and
LAWN SPOTS (where you bring a chair, or rent one from us, and sit on our beautiful lawn with in-ground speakers). Parking for lawn spots is just a one minute walk to the screen.

🚗 BOTH ticket types are SOLD BY THE CARLOAD (up to 7 people per vehicle).

📣‼ TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE for Lawn Spots for the very popular HORROR DOUBLE FEATURE of BACKROOMS and OBSESSION for tonight, Saturday, and Sunday.

📽 MAIN SCREEN THIS WEEKEND:

THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU: Marks the first time characters created for a live-action Star Wars series have made the jump to headline their own theatrical movie. Instead of a reboot or a massive time-jump, the film picks up where season three of the Disney+ series left off, bridging the narrative gap before the sequel films.

SPACEBALLS: George Lucas gave Mel Brooks his full blessing to spoof Star Wars on one condition: Brooks was forbidden from selling any Spaceballs merchandise. Brooks turned that restriction into one of the movie's best meta-jokes, having the character Yogurt aggressively peddle fake, non-existent products like "Spaceballs: The Flamethrower" directly to the camera.

📽 THE GROVE THIS WEEKEND:

BACKROOMS: Director Kane Parsons a teenager in high school when he created the viral YouTube short that caught A24 (the movie studio's) attention, making him the youngest director ever to helm an A24 feature film at just 20 years old.

OBSESSION: This film pulled off a box-office anomaly in modern cinema: Its ticket sales actually INCREASED in its second weekend.... Movies typically consider a 50% DROP from their opening weekend as a massive win. However, driven by viral word-of-mouth, Obsession SURGED nearly 30% in its second week! It is a virtually unprecedented increase that stunned industry analysts.

🙌 We've taken The Mandalorian and Grogu and added the classic Star Wars parody movie, SPACEBALLS after it for a DOUBLE-FEATURE on the Main Screen! With Spaceballs 2 coming out in April 2027 and a Star Wars movie playing now, it seemed only fitting!
WE THINK YOU'LL LOVE THIS COMBO!

😱 IN THE GROVE, we are PREMIERING THE NEW HORROR MOVIE BACKROOMS as a DOUBLE-FEATURE with another new horror film, OBSESSION, playing after it. BACKROOMS is among the most highly-anticipated thrillers coming out in 2026 and OBSESSION, which premiered last weekend, is SCORING A 96% on Rotten Tomatoes!

On a recent video, we talked about how we pick movies and how our relationships with movie studios works. TODAY, we discuss where the money is - and where it isn't - for drive-in movie theaters like GDIT.
