Trivia:
During the early scene which introduces the interior of the train station, there are appearances by characters representing Django Reinhardt, James Joyce, Salvador Dalí, and Sir Winston Churchill.

Tonight's film trivia:
Contrary to a rumor, the horse that played Artax did not really die during the filming of the Swamp of Sadness scene. Wolfgang Petersen confirmed that the horse survived. In fact, two identical horses were used for the scene, and they were professionally trained by a horse handler for months. While the scene was filmed, the crew would alternate between the two of them. Both horses remained unscathed. Petersen also expressed full understanding in the shocked reaction of the audience, and he also said that the sadness of the scene was necessary for the story and the character.

John Wayne originally intended Richard Widmark should play Davy Crockett, while Wayne himself would have taken the small role of Sam Houston so he could focus his energy on directing the picture. However, Wayne was only able to obtain financial backing if he played one of the main parts, so he decided to play Crockett and cast Widmark as Jim Bowie.

Around The World Sunday brings a thriller about POWs who, during an arranged soccer game in Paris, plan a daring escape with the help of the French underground.

Movie trivia:
Sylvester Stallone started soccer training on weekends off during the filming of Nighthawks (1981). Stallone received training from England's World Cup winning goalkeeper, Gordon Banks. Initially, Stallone paid little attention to Banks' advice, as he didn't think the training was necessary, and recklessly threw himself around on the first day of filming the match. Eventually, he hit the ground so hard that he dislocated a shoulder and broke one of his ribs, putting him out of action for several days. When he returned, Stallone paid much more attention to what Banks was telling him, but still sustained several minor injuries over the course of filming, including another broken rib. After production was finished, Stallone commented that the experience had been harder than fighting in the Rocky movies.

Filming in Oklahoma was briefly delayed due to the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. Many of the crew went to the site to help with recovery efforts.

A man in London tries to help a counter-espionage agent, but when the agent is killed and the man stands accused, he must go on the run to save himself and stop a spy ring that is trying to steal top-secret information.

Movie trivia:
Before filming the scene where Hannay (Robert Donat) and Pamela (Madeleine Carroll) run through the countryside, Sir Alfred Hitchcock handcuffed them together and pretended for several hours to have lost the key in order to put them in the right frame of mind for such a situation.
