Carter is thrilled to be a part of this summer’s production of “The Play That Goes Wrong”! As someone who has enough “oopsies” everyday to make an entire episode of “America’s Funniest Home Videos”, he looks forward to bringing more of these mishaps to the stage! Carter is heavily involved in school arts, but has never done a community show. It sounds like his character, Chris, won’t be the only one making their Gothenburg Community Playhouse debut!

Hello! My name is Ryan Johnson and I am excited to be joining the cast for The Play That Goes Wrong. I have always enjoyed live theater. I have participated in One Act in high school and even a student-directed play in college! In my spare time, I like to spend time with my cats, enjoy walks outdoors, watch movies/tv shows, spend time with my fiance, and play my various musical instruments. “Hello! I’m Michael May and I play the role of Jonathan, who plays the role of Charles Haversham. I have been performing in plays since high school, but I’m really excited to tackle this one. The show has a unique meta element to it that kind of highlights some of the behind the scenes things that people don’t see. What I’m most excited about the character I am playing is the emphasis on physical comedy and acting; it’s going to be a fun challenge to navigate as I develop the character.”

Erin Beavers ➡️ ANNIE the “Stage Manager”

This be Erin, Queen of the Silly Geese, and I have been involved in some way with acting since I was 10 and in 5th grade. I have acted on stage, done percussion for pit orchestras, worked in the costume shop, built flats and platforms, directed both plays and musicals, and I am so excited to be back on the stage again as an actress! Already I can tell that this cast and crew is going to be so much fun to work with and sometimes that is just what you need at the end of the day--a great group of people to spend time with, laughing and creating something incredible

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG🎬

Hi there — I’m the director!
I’m known around town as “Mr. K” or “the guy Beavers is with,” but you can call me Kevin. I’ve been lucky enough to call this community home for just over four years, though I’ve been helping with local musicals and plays even longer than that. Working with Erin on high school productions has always been a great experience, building sets and helping organize shows as assistant and stage designer… so I figured, how hard could directing be?
I’m incredibly lucky to be working with a full cast of amazing actors and a dedicated crew to pull off the most ambitious and technical production this theater has ever seen. None of it would be possible without our community members, the Sun Theater, and the support of my friends and family.
Fingers crossed everything goes according to plan — the Cornley Drama Society really needs this win. See if you can solve the mystery! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you may even participate.
