Armenian Film Society congratulates Arine Harapeti on 10 years of launching her law practice and 20 years in the entertainment industry.

Arine Harapeti has built a career at the intersection of storytelling, advocacy and negotiation, representing artists, writers, directors, producers, and filmmakers across film, television, and emerging media. In her career, she has played a role behind the scenes in helping bring stories to life while protecting the creative voices at their center. Arine Harapeti’s work spans projects and partnerships with major studios and platforms including Amazon/MGM, Netflix, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Lionsgate, Warner Bros, Sony among others.

Arine Harapeti is a dedicated advocate for Armenian voices, having long supported the community and represented filmmakers who are elevating the Armenian presence in the industry.

Sona Karapoghosyan is curating a special film series at Asia Society, which will be held October 23-25, 2026 in New York.

OUR CENTURY: SPIRALING PATHS THROUGH ARMENIAN CINEMA explores themes of displacement, identity, memory, and belonging through five films by Armenian filmmakers from different generations and parts of the world.

The program includes HELLO, IT’S ME, CALENDAR, LEBBEUS/THADDEUS, LAST STATION, and AFTER DREAMING.

In LOVE OF YOUR LIFE, a scene set during the COVID-19 pandemic features a family member, played by Gayané Kaligian, speaking Armenian over FaceTime with another family member hospitalized with COVID-19.

LOVE OF YOUR LIFE is directed by Rachel Morrison, who previously directed THE FIRE INSIDE and served as cinematographer on films including FRUITVALE STATION, co-produced by Sev Ohanian, and BLACK PANTHER.

The romantic drama stars Margaret Qualley, Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Basso, and Catherine Keener. The film had its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.

The Golden Globes will honor Armenian actor Samvel Tadevossian at the inaugural Golden Globes Silk Road Tribute Gala, which will be held October 23-24, 2026, in Uzbekistan.

Samvel Tadevossian will receive the Golden Globes Beacon Award, recognizing emerging performers from Central Asia and the Caucasus whose work represents a new generation of talent in film and television.

Samvel Tadevossian is best known for his leading performance in the war drama LIFE AND FIGHT, which earned him national recognition, including the State Prize of the Republic of Armenia and an Anahit Award from the National Film Academy of Armenia. Samvel Tadevossian has also been recognized for his stage work, including his performance in the one-man play THE EGOIST.

The two-day gala will celebrate the achievements of film and television artists from Central Asia and the Caucasus, honoring six artists from Armenia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.

WINTER IN MARCH, a stop-motion animated short film directed by Natalia Mirzoyan and executive produced by Armen and Mary Karaoghlanian for Armenian Film Society, has been shortlisted for the European Film Awards.

Born in Armenia and based in Estonia, Natalia Mirzoyan is an artist and animation filmmaker whose work has received international recognition. WINTER IN MARCH premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Troisième Prix in the La Cinef selection. The film also won Best Animated Film at the Estonian Film and Television Awards.

WINTER IN MARCH will have its West Coast Premiere on Friday, October 16 at 4pm at the Chinese Theatre as part of the Animation Is Film Festival.The short film will screen as part of their Best of Annecy program, presented in partnership with Women in Animation. The program features a selection of highlights from the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Nominations for the European Film Awards will be announced on November 4. The European Film Awards will be held on January 16, 2027 at the Greek National Opera at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece.

Proximity Media’s THE X-FILES has received a series order at Hulu.

Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel will star as two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents who form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to investigating unexplained phenomena.

The series is produced by Onyx Collective and 20th Television in association with Proximity Media.

Ryan Coogler wrote and directed the pilot episode and will serve as an executive producer alongside Chris Carter, creator of the original series; Jennifer Yale, who also serves as showrunner; and Proximity Media’s Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.

Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson contributed the score for the pilot episode.

The original THE X-FILES aired on Fox from 1993 to 2002, becoming one of the most influential science fiction television series of its era.

Ari Balouzian has been nominated for a Critics Choice Documentary Award for his original score for YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING.

The documentary received five nominations, including Best Documentary Feature and Best Director for Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING follows notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes, who invites a skeptical film crew to document her life just 34 days before she is sent to prison. A24 is campaigning the film across several awards categories, including Best Original Score for Ari Balouzian.

Ari Balouzian is also the composer of Lance Oppenheim’s PRIMETIME, starring Robert Pattinson, which is currently in theaters.

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING opens in theaters on October 16.

ATONEMENT, which had its US Premiere at the 2026 Armenian Film Festival, opens at the Laemmle Glendale on Friday, October 16.

Armenian Film Society’s Armen Karaoghlanian will moderate a Q&A with Oscar-nominated director Reed Van Dyk following the 7:30pm screening.

Inspired by real events, ATONEMENT tells a powerful story of trauma, forgiveness, and survival in the aftermath of the Iraq War, centering on an Iraqi-Armenian family. The film stars Boyd Holbrook, Kenneth Branagh, and Hiam Abbass, who portrays Mariam Khatchurian.
