To all of our valued guests, it is with heavy hearts we announce the closure of Tubby’s Ice House. Our last day of service will be Sunday, April 21, 2024. We wanted to thank you for your years of support and the good times on the sunny corner of Austin and Washington. Of course there’s a mix of emotions, but the memories are equal parts humbling, horrifying (the entire floor rotting out) and hilarious to think back on. Many changes have been made over the past nine years and sometimes things just don’t work and you have to move on.

Over the years we’ve had really great people be a part of Tubby’s, each person adding something valuable and quirky to what was meant to be a family friendly, community spot. We know that there will surely be speculation on what’s really going on and what’s going to happen to the space. We can joyfully say that there are exciting plans in the work, more to come on that front soon…

In the meantime, you can catch me making drinks at Caliche, chatting with guests at August E’s, running the floor at Otto’s, and pouring wine at Alla Campagna. While closing Tubby’s is an emotional experience for our family and hospitality group, it makes me ever grateful for everything else that we do to contribute to Fredericksburg.
