Originally built in 1923 and renovated beginning in 2008, the Garden Theater shows first-run, independent and foreign films, and is home to the annual Frankfort Film Festival. Located two blocks from Lake Michigan in downtown Frankfort, the Garden Theater is also available to rent for private and corporate gatherings, charity fundraisers, wedding receptions and other special events.

The Benzie County Players community theater group and The Garden Theater are thrilled to
announce open auditions for the upcoming production of the hit musical Come From Away, directed by
Rachel Evans Higgins.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 7th, 10am to 12pm and Monday, June 8th, 6pm to 8pm, at The Garden
Theater. Callbacks, if necessary, will take place on Tuesday, June
9th.

To fill out the audition form, please go to the link in our bio.

●What to prepare: Please be prepared to sing a song you know well and are comfortable singing.
Preferably not from Come From Away and 1-3 minutes.
● Format: Introductions to production team, singing, acting with reading lines from the production, and a
short movement or dance request (materials provided upon arrival).
● What to bring: Your enthusiasm, and a song you know and are comfortable singing.
● Availability: Actors must commit to prioritizing rehearsals June-August, tech and dress rehearsals
September 1st-September 10th, and performances September 11th through September 14th.

He’s a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, bandleader, producer, and storyteller whose voice cuts through noise like a well-honed blade."

Wednesday night! An Evening with Matthew Burtner - April 29, 6pm @ The Garden Theater. FREE ADMISSION. The project is a collaboration between the Elberta Heritage Center, Sawbill Surf Club, and Interlochen Public Radio.

The Elberta Heritage Center and WUWU 100.1 Community Radio are very excited to welcome Matthew Burtner to the Village of Elberta for a 3-week artist residency. His work invites audiences to listen more deeply to the natural world and to consider their relationship to local ecosystems. Join us to meet Matthew on Wednesday at The Garden Theater.
