THIS PRODUCTION WILL BE DELAYED:
In fall 2016, WeR3 Theatrical Productions will present, "When The Street Lights Came On". This will be a production designed to empower families and communities with the primary focus on saving our youth. We all see the stories on multi media outlets and may even have witnessed firsthand the urgent need for intervention. Some youth and their parents feel hopeless. I want to do something...I just can't sit still and watch. If you are interested in participating in a focus group to discuss problems and solutions which may be integrated into the script, inbox your email address and tell me what perspective you feel you may bring to the group. Keep in mind that this will be a small, diverse group of people who can provide a global perspective to issues which are plaguing our youth, families and communities. Joyce Hayden is the founder of WeR3 Spirit, Soul and Body Theatrical Productions. She is a playwright and director. WeR3 is headquartered in Metro Jackson, MS. Since 2009 WeR3 has produced stage plays which have educated and empowered communities to take a stand against various societal issues including: domestic violence, dating violence, child sexual abuse, school bullying, and drug and alcohol addiction. The plays are strongly supported by Mississippi’s legislators, the state’s Attorney General, Mayors, Governors, city councils and other community leaders, faith based organizations, and business owners. Each production sends a message of education and empowerment. We R3 believes that it takes collaboration of several entities, to reach those who are directly and / or indirectly affected by negative and sometimes toxic societal issues.
WeR3 has a vast reach for its productions. DVDs of two plays, "You Will If You Love Me" and its sequel "Not As I Do" which focused on the lingering cycle of domestic and dating violence continue to be distributed by municipal court judges in seven Mississippi counties when they have domestic violence offenders to appear in their courts.
These two plays are continually distributed by health care providers who see a disproportionate number of women, men and youth who are victims of domestic violence, dating violence and child sexual abuse. The 2014 production, "You Don't Know My Story" continues to inspire those who have experienced drug addiction; either firsthand or via family or friends.
WeR3 plays are strongly supported by community organizations such as boys and girls clubs, domestic violence coalitions and substance abuse rehabilitation centers; and have a very strong faith based following.
In the past six years, WeR3 plays have reached citizens in Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and New York either through live theatre, DVD sales or live streaming of the productions. WeR3 provides Christ centered theatre, however, the productions are not "Gospel" Stage Plays. Its "Inspirational" stage plays are designed to empower and educate communities using scripts which relate to real life situations and circumstances. However, WeR3 does believe that all healing can be found in Christ Jesus when we instill His core values into our lives.
