The World Needs More Pie! 🥧💛

Join us on Friday, November 14th at 7 pm for the "taste-good, feel-good film of the year" (Little Village)!

PIEOWA: A PIECE OF AMERICA, a feature documentary, celebrates the myriad ways pie is woven into Iowa’s (and America’s) culture, the lengths people will go to for a slice, and how this humble pastry can bake the world a better place. Audiences and critics agree that “it’s a tonic for what ails us.” The film features comedian Tom Arnold, NPR economics correspondent Scott Horsley (NPR = No Pie Refused), Better Homes & Gardens food editor Jan Miller, among other notable names, alongside everyday people — church ladies, farm wives, pie shop owners, State Fair pie competitors, chefs, food historians, RAGBRAI bike riders, and humanitarians of all ages. Wholesome and humorous, it will leave you feeling more hopeful about the world — and hungry for pie.

Fairfield filmmaker Amine Kouider will present a special screening of "THE LAND OF NOTHING," a new surrealist short film ten years in the making, on Saturday, June 7 at 7:30 PM at Cinema Fairfield.

The film weaves poetic imagery and dreamlike storytelling to follow a poet’s search for his lost muse through a vibrant, colorful, and mystical landscape where the threads between worlds are thin and the boundaries of reality begin to blur.

*This film was created as part of the David Lynch MFA in Filmmaking at Maharishi International University and supported by a grant from the Iowa Arts Council.*
