Today was special.
I passed my real estate exam on December 1st 2020. Your girl likes to shop so I went to Nordstrom Rack treat myself to a new pair of shoes and some other small odds and ends. I tend to make small talk with cashiers and this time I was so excited, when she asked me how my day was going, I blurted out “I just got my real estate license and officially became a Realtor!” The cashier looked at me and said “Oh, I want to buy a house!” I had nothing yet, so I wrote my name and my phone number and email down on a piece of receipt tape. At first, she wasn’t quite ready to buy so I helped with a rent to own home which ended up being through a terrible company—I was a new agent and it sounded like such a good deal for people not ready to buy yet but it was not—So she went back to renting for some time. She worked hard, built her credit up, found a kick ass lender (shout out to Nicole) to help her navigate what she needed to do money wise and then she called me again. We saw some great houses and some not so great houses and landed on a gorgeous house that works for her family. I helped her navigate through all the stages of grief and excitement and stress over the last month. But today we crossed the finish line. She crossed the finish line and I’m so excited for her and her family. I guess, I shouldn’t say finish line cause I already know she’s just getting started. Congrats India! I’m so proud of you lady! Thanks for trusting me even whe things were hard and difficult decisions had to be made. I can’t wait to see you turn this house into a home!
