The Grand Theater

The Grand Theater 1924 Never Looked So Good! The Grand Theater, considered by many as the crown jewel of the Upper Perkiomen Valley, is located in East Greenville, Pennsylvania.

First opening on October 4, 1924, The Grand has seen several remodels over the years, but nothing that compares to the 2004-2005 remodel that restored the theater to its original grandeur. Our single screen is reserved for movies, not commercials! Come and enjoy quality entertainment at affordable prices!

Ok. Years have passed. This was from one of the most beautiful theaters in ABE ever. Not everyone had the privileges of pushing away drop ceiling tiles to not only uncover air conditioning ducts but found this in a pile of garbage on the stage. Original wall fixture from 1921 opening. Missing 2 "candle covers" for lower lights and needs a cover for center. Fake candlesticks still available. The most BEAUTIFUL theater in ABE. SORRY, this makes the Easton State look 4th run.

Lost forever. DLP Realty allowed myself and other historic owners in to salvage days before demo.

Sad days. But Morvian bought it, then scraped all metal inside. Including all electric lines that were copper. Then sold to developer. It's OK, Jeff Parks of Artsquest gave up when they were granted part of historic Bethlehem Steel Corporation original site.

It starts with local leadership....

I have stunning pictures of what was hidden inside.

Ok, now call me nuts. 1) I bought and restored the Valley. 2) I care. If you follow us we have a server no longer supported after being promised 30 years minimum. We are back up and running for 1 to 15 years or more....

I went shopping today for a compatible BARCO SSD server today. Just must make sure it complies with us, changeable light dimming, sound control, curtain control and external input and shows....Gole old Mom is never moving. Nor our our non Disney cartoon library.

Ps - let's talk about this when we host Lauri Moore 10/22

2 rough days making sure we offer outstanding sound, picture, quality, at lowest prices. We are and have been back in service. Other posts are what am I doing for our single UPV screen, but all. Yes, we were lied to from Fithian to salesman (surprise! Lol)

Just not about our server. I got it. It's our fellow singles who might have to get board approval to say a peep. We are all together on this.

We are 22 years successfully privately owned!

Buy from and support your local businesses. Between abandoned malls and gigaplexes, it's over for both. Thanks Amazon, we are mostly all guilty!

As a board member of Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce , I recall retired state senator Wonderling (sp) being pivitol in forming perk up to "keep us from becoming the next Montgomeryville". While Perk Up has turned into an incredible educational hub, we also now collaborate on big items like regional planning and nature tourism....we have the most open space in all of Montgomery County!! Great job staff at Chamber.

Keep it local or historic in UPV!

Attn CEO of Cinema, Mr. Kevin Yeaman:

We lost opening night 5/21 after earning Disney respect and honored with early opening privileges of Mandalorian; to lose show due to your Doremei equipment. Yes Disney respects a small screen in rural PA. DO YOU SIR?

A lost show due to a cold soldered power switch?! I know it's next to three 1 TB drives that go through normal heat up and cool down cycles. Our room is kept at 62 all year long. Cleary Ray Dolby could see the problem. Can you identify the problem???

6 hours to troubleshoot with no answer. I figured it out. I restore old Seeburg jukeboxes!

Hence 200 cycles of switch on my bench shows it is fine. Dolby do better, Especially your handful of historic singles and the fans of Ray Dolby himself. I have his book and did research to go 7.1 instead of 5.1 from like.....GDC?

Since selling a load of equipment once in a lifetime. Like talkies, we get hit again to save distributors money since you just want to sell product. I worked for a public company guilty of conspiracy on price fixing. Innovator and generic collusion is illegal. Ask folks who worked in Sellersville PA.

You are now just very early cutting off parts so Dolby has to sell more expensive new product. Your CP550 Lasted forever but the Digital Cinema Iniative requires new inputs in the Ray Dolby designed unit. Our new CP750 is designed like imported garbage.....to be a thrown away.... much more expensive too?Thank God I have friends in Congress and US Senate.

Explain to our customers the pressure we are under. And DOJ. That Dolby is forcing us to raise prices for having to buy new equipment? No...we will never! Our Simplex XL35 ran for over 60 years. I cannot get 14 out of your server. My best friend ran Simplex E7s for over 70 years. Aftermarket parts were always made. But during your copyright exclusively you can tell all of us to die or buy newer useless systems.

We await official comment from you. Kevin Yeaman, CEO.

Ray Dolby would be ashemed and not have to check with legal to comment...stock price is more important than customer satisfaction?

If you care, offer power supplies for CP750.

If not Cinema United PA knows I am one to fight. Ask them. I also fully believe Fithian feared me. I fight for us 100 plus year olds.

Michael

First we did not desire to play as he is considered controversial. After reviews and watching it in another theater, it was an absolutely superb picture.

Thank you all who came out for your acknowledgement of the prices and Quality of the Grand, especially our incredible Dolby 7.1 Surround.

Thanks to our customers' support we beat, price adjusted per ComScore on national grosses , the number of patronage by show was over 30% this past weekend compared to other theaters, on national ticket average!!

Thank you!!!

A $1.29 Normally Open, Single Pole, Momentary Contact switch was the problem Thursday Evening. Little Server Gremlin.

This switch is normally never used except for turning server on after Maintenance such as cleaning or battery replacement for internal clock, or very rarely a cold reboot if Linux had an issue. Thursday afternoon was in routine maintenance turned bad!

All useless with a faulty inexpensive part! Dolby and Strong Technical Services all blamed the main power supplies. Long story short, it was just the switch for main power supply. They did well with hours of testing! It was a very rare part to fail. Interesting enough, between my meter measuring motherboard 120V to power supply, the failure was the said switch.
