Open since April 2005, the Darkside Cinema is the only independently owned and operated movie theater in Corvallis. When it's not Covid times, WE ARE OPEN EVERY NIGHT, playing independent, foreign, and art films you won't find at the local megaplex. Ask us about renting the theater for birthday parties or private shows, and about inexpensive on-screen advertising for your local business or non-profit organization.

This week, DasFilmfest brings us two powerful films about political strife. First, on Saturday June 6th at 3:00pm, we will be showing the documentary ALIPATO AT MUOG. The brother of missing activist Jonas Burgos bares in this documentary the untold stories behind the confidential leads, damning evidence, and why the disappearance of his brother remains a relevant case today. Directed by JL Burgos. A portion of the ticket sales goes to support the family featured in the film.

Then on Monday June 8th at 8:00pm, we will be showing the film MY FATHER'S SHADOW. Two young brothers explore Lagos with their estranged father during the 1993 Nigerian election crisis, witnessing both the city’s magnitude and their father’s daily struggles as political unrest threatens their journey home. Starring Sopé Dìrísù, Chibuike Marvellous Egbo. Directed by Akinola Davies Jr.

Folks!
We wanted to let you know that we have a loyalty points system!
In order to rack up points, all you need to do is become a default member! You can do that from the website. In the upper right hand corner, you can create your profile and it will keep track of the points you accrue!
The easiest way to get points right now is to purchase tickets from our website. We are currently working to get member cards, and once we have those, you'll be able to scan your card at the counter and start racking up points with snack bar purchases as well!

100 points can be redeemed for $5 in snack bar credit!
500 points can be redeemed for a t-shirt and popcorn bucket! (those items coming soon. It'll take a little while for you to get to 500 points anyway)

Certain films will be awarded double points on their opening weekend! This will be for films that seem tailor made for the Darkside, but somehow keep falling through the cracks. When folks see these films on opening weekend, it ensures that the film will stick around for more than a week. This helps us, and it helps you because you'll earn double the points! Keep an eye out for the films this will be attached to on the website.

Wednesday is triple point day! This is to help us get butts in seats on our slowest weekday.
