Corinth Theatre Guild

Corinth Theatre Guild We hope you will join the Corinth Theatre Guild! Adult Membership is only $15.00 per year. Checks can be mailed or brought to the Corinth Theatre Guild.

The Corinth Theatre Guild, Inc. (CTG) was formed in the mid-1900s, growing from the efforts of the Catholic Daughters’ Minstrel Shows, which put on many productions for the public’s enjoyment in the Corinth area. They formally organized as a Not-For-Profit 501(c)(3) corporation in 1978 through the efforts of Vincent Morreale, Mildred Butler, Ruth Jackson, Joe Barron, Richard Baker, Betty Bogle, Be

tty Saunders, and others. The building owned by the CTG at 6 Fourth Street in Corinth was originally built to house the Gill and Towers Dairy. It was purchased from the Hudson River Credit Union and has served as the group’s rehearsal and meeting space for many years, bringing such shows as “Guys and Dolls”, “Meet Me in St. Louis”, “Hello Dolly”, and many revues to area stages. The CTG Board of Trustees and General Membership recently voted to partner with the Corinth Churches Community Cupboard to house the Community Cupboard (food pantry) in order to give them greater space and accessibility, and to give the CTG a not-for-profit partner to share the costs of the building at 6 Fourth Street. Past productions have included many well-known musicals and plays as well as revues and minstrel shows. We offer annual scholarships to Corinth High School seniors who are interested in continuing their interests in the arts, be it theatre, music, or dance. Fundraisers and events in the form of community chili-cook-offs (with entertainment), snowshoe races, snow sculpture contests, and haunted hayrides complete some of our activities. Our auditions are always open to the public regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, religion, or physical capability, and our rehearsal hall is fully handicapped accessible.

Our Story

The Corinth Theatre Guild, Inc. (CTG) was formed in the mid-1900s, growing from the efforts of the Catholic Daughters’ Minstrel Shows, which put on many productions for the public’s enjoyment and to benefit organizations in the Corinth area. They formally organized as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation in 1978 through the efforts of Vincent Morreale, Mildred Butler, Ruth Jackson, Joe Barron, Richard Baker, Betty Bogle, Betty Saunders, and others. The building is owned by the CTG, located at 6 Fourth Street in Corinth, which was originally built to house the Gill and Towers Dairy. It was purchased from the Hudson River Credit Union and now serves as our “Little Theatre That Could” for current CTG productions. In the past it served simply as the rehearsal hall for many well-known musicals, “Guys and Dolls”, “Meet Me in St. Louis”, “Hello Dolly”, (to name a few) also including musical revues and minstrel shows which were performed at area stages. The CTG Board of Directors and General Membership voted to partner with the Corinth Churches Community Cupboard to house the Community Cupboard (a food pantry) in order to give them greater space and accessibility. Giving the CTG a not-for-profit partner and enabling the CTG to continue to offer support to the community of Corinth. We also sponsor fundraisers and events for the Corinth community such as, the Chili-Cook-Off, Firecracker 5K Run and Walk on July 4th, Hometown Christmas, snowshoe races, snow sculpture contests, and haunted hayrides complete some of our activities. Our auditions are always open to the public regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, religion, or physical capability, and our rehearsal hall is fully handicapped accessible.
