A reporter discovers a plot to hide safety hazards after witnessing an accident at a nuclear power plant. This free screening, presented by Renew Missouri, will be introduced by John Coffman of the Consumer Council of Missouri.

In 2018, Craig Foster began free-diving in a frigid underwater kelp forest near Cape Town, South Africa. Documenting his dives, Craig eventually forges an unlikely bond with a curious octopus who begins to teach him profound life lessons. Winner of Best Documentary Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards, "My Octopus Teacher" follows a year in the life of Craig and his octopus companion.

This free screening, presented by Daniel Boone Regional Library, is part of the 2026 One Read program exploring the novel "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt.

Regular kids Carmen (Alexa PenaVega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) get the shock of their young lives when they discover their “boring” parents are ex-spies and have been abducted by evil mastermind Floop (Alan Cu***ng). Armed with high-tech gadgets, these siblings embark on a mission to save their parents and, possibly, the world.

"Spy Kids" is an action comedy written and directed by Robert Rodriguez that launched a franchise consisting of five films and an animated television series. Inspired to make a film that felt like it was produced by a kid, Rodriguez drew upon his own childhood to make this fantastic tale of kids’ empowerment and the importance of family.

While reporting on alternative energy resources, reporter Kimberly Wells (Jane Fonda) and her cameraman Richard Adams (Michael Douglas) accidentally witness an emergency core shutdown procedure at a nuclear power plant in California. When Kimberly attempts to publicize the incident, she and her colleagues find themselves entangled in a dangerous plot to hide the safety hazards at the plant.

Although it faced backlash from the nuclear power industry, The China Syndrome became a critical and commercial success whose subject matter turned prescient when soon after its release a nuclear accident occurred in Pennsylvania. This free screening, presented by Renew Missouri, will be introduced by John Coffman of the Consumer Council of Missouri.
