If anyone has memories or stories about the Palace 9 please post them. I can’t believe no one has any stories good or bad about it.

Back in 1987 we had the 17 year cicadas. Ys ushers decided that it would be a good idea if we caught a bunch and release them in the theatre while movies were playing to wreak havoc amongst our movie goers. Well they don’t fly around in the dark! However they hit the floor and still made lots of noise.

The second movie theater ever built in the city of Columbia, it opened October 3, 1986 by JF Theatres and was designed by the architectural firm of Kelly Clayton & Mojzisek. It was closed in 2001. Cinema Treasures. https://cinematreasures.org
