From elegant weddings to show-stopping performances, the Ariel LaSalle Theater has seen it all! Step into the captivating history of the LaSalle Theater! Commissioned by The International Savings and Loan Company after the community growth following WWI, this Neo-Classical jewel by architect Nicola Petti was constructed in 1927 as a mixed-use structure. Originally boasting a vaudeville theater, bank, retail stores, and apartments, the LaSalle became an anchor in the East 185th corridor, serving as both a showplace and public meeting space.

Saved from demolition in 2008 through the efforts of Ward 11 Councilman Michael D. Polensek, the LaSalle was designated a Cleveland Landmark, securing its fate. Purchased by Northeast Shores Development Corporation in 2009, the restoration journey began with Phase I between 2016 and 2018. With public and private financial support, major systems were upgraded, structural repairs were made, and the iconic marquee was faithfully restored.

The LaSalle, now on the National Register of Historic Places since 2011, stands as a testament to the collaboration between the community and preservation efforts. With its unique façade and canopy marquee, this multi-disciplinary event center not only preserves the original majestic atmosphere inside but also offers a flexible rental space, ensuring a bright new future for this neighborhood icon.

We had an incredible time hosting the Celebration of Preservation with the Cleveland Restoration Society for the second year in a row! It was an honor to witness Radhika Reddy, the building's owner, receive the prestigious Dedication to Revitalization Award. We are also thrilled that the renovation of the LaSalle Theater was recognized in the Celebration Spotlight. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to the Cleveland Restoration Society for organizing such an inspiring event. Your support means the world to us as we continue our journey of preserving and celebrating historic spaces. Here's to many more years of revitalization and community!
