ATTENTION

In response to newly released renderings and hypothetical plans of a downtown White Sox park in an area called “The Railyards”, as announced by Canal Edge stockholder Justin Ishbia on Friday, Alderwoman Lee and Commissioner John P. Daley will hold a press conference on Tuesday at 10AM to respond to the announcement and give updates on the fight against the Amtrak Midwest Maintenance facility. The press conference will be held at 35th & Shields.

All are welcome to come and join Commissioner Daley and Alderwoman Lee in solidarity. Supporting groups to be announced TBD.

A multiple vehicle collision today in Bridgeport has injured at least four people and has damaged buildings, including a portion of the Ramova Theatre building.

Just last week, the City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development -- Commission on Chicago Landmarks gave its final blessing to the Ramova becoming a protected city landmark. Also last week, the Ramova also hosted the kickoff concert for the 40th Annual Chicago Blues Festival.

Official Chicago Landmark status for our old girl!

Both proposals are headed to City Council for final approval. Pilsen neighbors have battled for the landmark designations for years, while the Archdiocese of Chicago opposes it.
