LAST NIGHT - and all seats are $5!!
It's Discount Night at State Theatre and we have a great movie for you and your Tweens & Teens!! 'Forgotten Island' is an animated adventure about two teens who fall through a portal and into a world of memories. It's also a celebration of the Filipino culture and a folktale from their tradition! It may be a little scary for the young ones, but it would be a great night to leave the littles with grandparents or aunties and take the older ones out to a movie - with our always yummy popcorn!!!
P.S. We do currently have a few popcorn balls, while supplies last!

This new tale from DreamWorks is a folktale from the Philippines, and a creative film for those seeking something unusual. 'Forgotten Island' is rated PG, but CommonSense Media is reporting that the movie may not be for the younger kids. It is, however, a wonderful tale of friendship, perseverance and teamwork. It also celebrates the Filipino culture, sharing many aspects of the land with audiences. Read the reviews at https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/forgotten-island
Then come see 'Forgotten Island' at State Theatre of Chamberlain:

SAVE THE DATE!! (Or don't!)
For Halloween, Oct 30th - Nov 3rd, we are excited to be able to show the creepy thriller 'Verity', based on the novel by Colleen Hoover.
However, in preparation we've got one of the most awful, most psychologically terrifying and most gross of all horror movies of all time. 'Nightmare on Elm Street' will be showing at State Theatre of Chamberlain on Thursday, October 29th at 7p - and we will expect all of you to be there!!
(We, on the other hand, will be hiding behind the popcorn machine and stuffing popcorn balls in our ears!!!)
Rated R - all seats $5

Thank you to everyone who has offered suggestions!!
We're still trying to narrow down the list. Unfortunately, some of the great ideas were either unavailable or too expensive for us to show. We were given a few ideas... and we just don't know. Are any of these films ones you and your friends or family like to watch? We're also considering 'A Christmas Story' or 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', both of which we showed before... and for which we got very small audiences!!
Let us know what you think!! And we look forward to seeing you at the Holiday Movie Matinees!!

We've got an exciting month ahead!! This weekend, we're welcoming a family movie with the Filipino folktale in animated form called 'Forgotten Island'!! This has a very favorable rating on RottenTomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/forgotten_island) from critics AND audiences!!
We'll follow that with the wildly acclaimed 'Heart of the Beast' and the new film, 'Angel & The Badman'. We've also got, coming up, a special event with Paul Horstead and his incredibly impressive, heirloom book, 'South Dakota: Yesterday & Today'. On Sunday, October 25th at 7p, meet the author and hear about the research and hard work that went into making this revelatory publication!
All at State Theatre of Chamberlain! We look forward to seeing you here!!
