Yet he stands taller then most of us. He's a fireman....
A fireman is at the once the most of fortunate and the least fortunate of man. He's a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death. He's a gentle man because he has seen the awesome power of violence out of control. He's responsive to a child's laughter because his arms have held too many small bodies that will never laugh again....
He doesn't preach the brotherhood of man.

Training Night — Traffic Control Operations 🚧🚒

Tonight’s training focused on traffic control operations on highways and secondary roadways. 🚧🚒

These scenes can be some of the most dangerous situations we respond to, which is why training and preparation are extremely important. Our number one priority is making sure every member returns home safely to their families after every call and every training.

Tonight, members also reviewed Scott’s Law, also known as the “Move Over” Law (625 ILCS 5/11-907). This law requires Illinois drivers to move over for any stationary emergency vehicle, commercial vehicle, or any vehicle displaying flashing hazard lights. If changing lanes is unsafe, drivers are required to slow down significantly and proceed with caution.

We are proud of the dedicated men and women of our department who continue to give 100% to this community while working hard to keep themselves and the public safe. 🚒
