In this prescient arthouse sci-fi rarity, Harvey Keitel plays a journalist with a camera implanted in his brain who is assigned to cover the terminal illness of a woman (Romy Schneider) without her knowledge. Harry Dean Stanton is positively reptilian playing against type as the callous TV executive behind the exploitative project.

DEATH WATCH screens Friday at 6:30 in a double feature with John Carpenter’s CHRISTINE. The Stanton Rule: A Harry Dean Stanton Centennial continues through Sunday. Learn more & get tickets at brattlefilm.org/movies/death-watch/

Stanton plays the father of Andie (Molly Ringwald) and portrays him as a somewhat lost but still caring single dad who is just trying to give his daughter the best life he can.
