Come get a sneak peek at the games featured at this year's Emerson College Day of Play by playtesting them at FableVision Studios!

For the third consecutive year, Emerson College students collaborated with FableVision to create games for the upcoming Emerson Day of Play. Before the big event, we need your help playtesting the games!

This panel shares the creative process behind “LOC Mixtape,” a podcast created by the panelists, which combines archival audio, expert interviews, and new songs from contemporary musicians to examine audio primary sources. We are excited to announce Kellian Adams Pletcher as an Opening Keynote Speaker for Serious Play North America at Duke University, August 5–7.

Kellian is the Director of G.L.A.M. Innovation at FableVision Studios, where she creates games, interactives, and immersive experiences for galleries, libraries, archives, and museums. Her projects span mobile games, video games, puzzle hunts, and live immersive theater, all rooted in the power of play to bring people together.

Opening Keynote Title:
A Community Begins with Friends: How Fun Builds Connection and Why We Need it Now More Than Ever

Her keynote promises to explore the role of fun, friendship, and connection in building stronger communities at a moment when they matter more than ever.

August 5, 3:15-4:15pm EDT: Gary Goldberger joins the interactive roundtable, “Bridging the Gap: Advancing Social Impact Through Games and Cross-Sector Collaboration.” Alongside Lyla Ross of Gamers Engaged, Dan Jones of Broward County Public Schools, Travis Windleharth and Adam Davis of foundry10, Dr. Amelia Herbst of Respec Psychological Services, and Jason Egginton of MagiKids by Weirdcards, speakers will explore how to strengthen collaboration and increase social impact through games.

August 6, 4:30-5:30pm EDT: Kellian hosts the Workshop, “Building Museum Games.” Drawing from Kellian’s book “Building Museum Games” as a framework, this workshop will bridge the gap between museum professionals and game designers by providing strategies for creating engaging digital, analog, and digital/physical games for museums.
