Joy comes from living a life of values, Hope, and faith. Our souls produce joy when we do the next right thing. Joy comes from knowing that this fellowship loves us and wants us hear in these Halls. Having this support Network one day at a time... Have a good day!

To know that each newcomer with whom I share has the opportunity to experience the relief that I have found in this fellowship, fills me with joy and gratitude. I feel that all things described in A.A. Will come to pass for them, as they have for me, if they seize the opportunity, and embrace the program fully. have a good day !

Taking a walk down memory lane....there was a future with endless opportunities for the young Marine in that photo. His brother Patrick told him that a famous palm reader he went to in NYC basically said "The lines on our hands and wrists are like life's road map. Each line represents different paths with different outcomes". The Marine....the young man in this photo that had courage, pride, and honor took the wrong path. He unwittingly went down the crooked line of his palm until he got to the end. Until the last drop from a bottle, that can be bought on any corner, had taken everything he had ever accomplished or hoped for.
Now the middle-aged Marine has taken his last drop and he's hiking that same line back to where it All began. He hasn't gotten very far but he's heading towards the correct path... That line in his hand he should have taken many years ago. As a Marine, especially a Parris Island Marine, He was taught to adapt and overcome. So for today, just for one day at a Time, he'll stay away from that next drop in the bottle that's waiting on any corner to take him back down the wrong path again. Because if he doesn't do as he was trained to do, to adapt and overcome, he may not be able to hike back. SEMPER FIDELIS

Get busy living or get busy dying.---- In order to really be in sobriety, we have learned to surrender to the fact that we have a disease. In Step One, we get our ego out of the way and admit that our disease has control. In Step Two, we find som**hing or someone we believe can lead us back to sanity. By the time we get to Step Three, we make the big decision: " Get busy living, or get busy dying." We choose. That is true freedom. Have a good day !

Hopefully this page is still viewed by alcoholics and addicts in need of support for their life struggles....With that said my name is Phil M. Alcholic and drug addict (Addicted to any substance that aids in escaping me). I started this page after finding K Street about 6 years ago. At that time I had finished up a state prison sentence and was living at the veterans shelter downtown Boston next to Government center...as i am a Marine Corps Veteran. I remember the love and support i found there and for this closeted guy i finally found my place. As time has passed I've ended up a good distance away and meetings have taken a back seat...to say the least. I'm no longer sober living in my car in a Walmart parking lot with the acrid smells and tastes of crystal m**h, crack, and booze leaving my body only to sit in astonishment as to how I allowed this to happen again. I'm a shell of what i used to be as tears pour down my face. "you'll never get this" I think to myself!! I don't know if Ill make it back but please anyone reading this post....Don't let your guard down....this progressive disease of slowly suffering physically mentally and spiritually will, as it is me, bring you to your knees. Before and now or sober and not tells the story. I hope to make my way back to that glimmer of light at the end of this jagged tunnel of my life. I wish everyone well. Always remember and please never forget to be able to live with your sober self is to live at peace.

To stay in this program, we need to except that we have an illness, we need to accept that we were out of control, and we need to except that we need others and they need us. Many of us get into trouble when we don’t except that we need others. This is why helping others is so important. By helping others, we learned about the give and take of human relationships. There is no give and take in addiction, there is just take, now, finally, we can give too ! Have a good day!
