NOW IT'S OFFICIAL!

Late announcement we know, but Ti West's throwback to grindhouse horror X is coming to the Babcock THIS FRIDAY! An adult film shoot in rural Texas turns into a fight for survival in this grizzly thriller that is part Texas Chainsaw, part Boogie Nights, but all parts A24 horror!

Opens March 18th at Babcock, moves to Art House on March 25th.

We will be holding a public meeting this Tuesday, February 22nd, at 6pm to discuss our proposed project at the Historic Babcock Theatre. This project includes work done to the entry way with 4 main components; structural issues below the sidewalk, the flooring as you approach the front doors, the doors themselves, and the marquee. Our goal is to preserve, protect, rehabilitate, and create the safest and most efficient use of this theater that is an important icon in our city.

BABCOCK HEAT UPDATE

Good news... The heat at Babcock is steadily climbing.
Bad news... It will take a while to heat that space.

So for Saturday's JAILHOUSE ROCK, we expect temperatures to be in the low 60s. Luckily Elvis gets us all a little hot under the collar, so that will help. But just in case, we still recommend blankets, coats, etc for those attending the screening.

As you may know, The Babcock Theatre has had some boiler problems these past few days, but it is improving, just very slowly. We are continuing with our normal scheduled films starting 1/5, but be aware it is pretty cool inside. Bring blankets, coats, warm drinks...whatever makes you feel a little more comfortable. We'll update you when we're back to normal.
