We are officially accepting moving image work for our upcoming festival, taking place April 7–11, 2027 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Repeatedly named one of the "25 Coolest Film Festivals In the World" by MovieMaker Magazine, MdFF offers a unique, competition-free environment dedicated entirely to the celebration of cinematic art. Selected films will screen live at the historic Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway Theatre, joining the ranks of distinguished festival alumni like Greta Gerwig, Barry Jenkins, and Kathryn Bigelow.

🎬 THIS WEEKEND WE'RE CELEBRATING BALTIMORE AND ITS FILMMAKERS! 🎬

May 29–31, you have to be at Parkway Theatre for THE BALTIMORE FILMMAKERS SUMMIT as we celebrate, elevate, and showcase the incredible storytelling talent right here in Charm City! 🌟

This weekend will be a huge celebration of local cinema, featuring special guests, talented fellows, exclusive premieres, and mind-bending revival screenings.

Check out some of the highlights:
🥂 Launch Party & Opening Night Film
Kick off the weekend with the premiere of Friday the 69th ()! FRIDAY THE 69TH is the first-ever period piece feature shot entirely on an iPhone (probably...don't Google it). It is a microbudget slasher-comedy paying tribute to the bottom-shelf horror films of the early ’80s. Plus, join us for our official Launch Party hosted by Baltimore’s own Aaron Henkin!

👁️ Dark Room Secret Screening & Salon
Presented by Brian Ratigan, DarkRoom Screening & Salon is making its Baltimore debut at The Filmmakers Playground! Join us for a SECRET mixtape of short films from NY and beyond, featuring Q&As with visiting filmmakers, free zines, and a salon to follow. An event you won't want to miss. ONE NIGHT ONLY .

🧟‍♂️ Hangover of Horror (Sunday Morning Block)
Kick off your Sunday with a jolt of classic and contemporary horror at our earliest screening of the festival. Hangover of Horror pairs a retro presentation of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead—a landmark in independent filmmaking and distribution—with a striking Maryland/Virginia-made short by Maher Ahmed, produced by Nora Reca.
☕🩸

🎶 KJ Presents: Dark City Beneath the Beat
Experience the rhythmic heartbeat of Baltimore in this stunning audiovisual journey celebrating the city’s homegrown club music culture. Presented by Parkway's very own, KJ Mohr.

🎟️ Tickets are moving fast. Grab yours and see you there!
