Following the Art Museum's brilliant "Staging a Comeback" exhibit, the Union Theatre team is thrilled to present "A Tribute to the Union Theatre" as an even more immersive look at the theatre's nostalgic past.

This unique event begins with interactive, educational elements as "a tribute to the Union theatre" with talks about the history of vaudeville and the history of early cinema. Richard Foster will be joining us with his "Merry Band" of Vaudeville musicians. Participants will interact with old film projectors as well as other classic filmmaking items. There will also be a little booth where participants can record their memories of the Union Theatre (or similar theatres) if they would like.

At 5:30, participants may sit back and relax as the Union Theatre team presents a classic film screening for the whole family to enjoy. We have confirmed that we will be playing "The Wizard of Oz!" Treats will be provided by The Pop Parlour as we go "Over the Rainbow" together.

This event is Part of ArtWeek SouthCoast 2026, a 10-day regional celebration of art, culture, and community across Southeastern Massachusetts, taking place May 8-17, 2026. For more information go to artweeksouthcoast.org

Tickets are donation- based and all are welcome. Go to uniontheatreattleboro.com/event-list to "pay what you can."

From May 8–17, communities across SouthCoast MA are coming together to celebrate creativity, and we’re thrilled to be included with an original event called A TRIBUTE TO THE UNION THEATRE: 100 Years of Stage & Screen. Featuring interactive exhibits hailing back to its early years of Vaudeville and Classic cinema, visitors will be treated to a Vaudeville presentation from historian Richard Foster (and musical guests!) while also having the chance to appear "on film!" Following the exhibit, we will screen a classic movie together (title to be announced in the coming days). The event is "Pay what you can" and proceeds go to the Union Theatre Revival. A fun way to : celebrating the creativity of Attleboro's past and looking towards the future when the lights shine once again.

ArtWeek SouthCoast spotlights a collection of events across Southeastern MA and celebrates creativity throughout the region. We’re honored to be part of the colorful momentum.
