The Athena Cinema's mission is to bring the finest independent film to Southeastern Ohio and create a shared space for dialogue. See OSMOSIS JONES at 3 p.m. TODAY, Saturday, July 18th, and donate an extra dollar to local children's orgs for a chance to win an Athens City Pool 10 punch pass! We'll pick & announce the winner at the event :)

Cost of admission to the movie is a donation (any amount) to local children's orgs.
This will be the last event in this season's Science on Screen® () series at the Athena! Dr. Sarah Adkins will give a pre-show talk from her perspective as a pharmacist. Additionally, this event will be part of 's Last Call!

Celebrate with us on Thursday, July 30th at 7 p.m.! We're showing two awesome anti-capitalist movies: PUTNEY SWOPE, a deep-cut from 1969, and SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, Boots Riley's masterpiece from 2018. $5 to see one movie or $8 to see both --- and don't worry, there will be an intermission in between!

We're excited to be offering this double-feature option for Art House Theater Day. Events that introduce folks to cool arthouse films they might otherwise not get to see are what we're all about. :)
